dogs aren't stupid mindless defenseless animals... to think otherwise is ridiculous... however, some dogs are just so loyal they wouldn't hurt their owner regardless of the consequences they would face for not defending themselves (pain, death, etc)

Also remember that dogs have been domesticated for soooo long that their instinct to react towards humans, unless taught at an earlier age or not raised in a civilized area, is that humans = food + protection + companionship.

yeah it is messed up....but there are FAR more serious things happening in this world

also consider that animal cruelty is, in most cases, a precursor to attacks on people. A child that continuously tortures and murders animals is going to advance on to humans.

as well, we have a duty to these animals... we've domesticated them, we've taken away their living space, etc... we owe the "lesser" creatures on this planet some measure of protection because of what we've decided to take away from them in our own evolution.

Unless you have a seriously screwy, ill-tempered or poorly trained dog, most dogs, no matter the circumstances, MOST times, they will not bite a human. That's not to say there aren't certain breeds who are more sharp in temperament and would be much more likely to retaliate.

true, and i would love to **** up that dude too. anyone who abuses someone/animal that doesnt have a good chance to fight back needs a taste of their own medicine.
