So basically this guy in miata.net suggested upping the compression by welding a chunk of metal onto his pistons.

We were laughing about this on miataturbo.net, and one of the guys there made up a fake article about a race car builder that JB welded coins onto the cylinders to make the car faster within the rules.

miata.net guy saw the article, and believed it.

Said guy is now epoxying chunks of aluminum onto his pistons!!!

You do realize that his concept is correct. Decrease volume while keeping the stroke constant would increase pressure/compression. Unfortunately his way of going about this is totallyyyy wrong :/

This is almost as dumb as the guy who tried to sandblast his intake by literally pouring sand into his intake. Needless to say it toasted everything it touched.
