not a psychological thing. read the article over again. it's actually physiological. read it over and then read more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leptin

and I understand what you mean when you say "diet"; that's the only way I use that word. I don't even know what you mean with your last sentence. if I'm understanding it right, you're saying that a cheat meal is breaking a "diet" then I'm going to have to have to correct you there. cheat meals are essential to a diet. ESPECIALLY to clean diets.
write me up a diet then.

since skim milk and special k are so bad....Charly, you do know that almost every diet out there incoporates that into it. Just because you're a body builder and eat oatmeal doesnt mean I have to. lol Don't sit here and blame not loosing weight on my breakfast, seriously.

but then you want me to have a cheat meal. That doesn't make any sense to me.

what do you mean by "every diet"?

I'm not a bodybuilder.

I don't eat oatmeal.

and it's not just your breakfast I'm blaming for your stagnant progress.. overall your diet needs work and you need to open your mind up to other things than just how many calories you take in..

Your numbers are EXTREMELY conservative for what you just listed, that's why I said add them up again. Not what you posted, but what they actually are.

For example, a bottle of gatorade is just over 300 calories alone (plus lots of sugar, no good!), yet your entire 5th meal states 500 calories.

300 for gatorade
350 for 8 oz grilled chicken
215 for one cup of brown rice
50 for steamed brocolli

That's 915 calories alone, nearly double what you have it calculated as.

Your first meal you have 150 calories, but
115 for special k with berries
75 for a small banana
110 for one cup of skim plus skim milk

That's 300 calories, literally double what you have it calculated as, with only one cup of milk. You probably drink more than that.

My point is, you're cheating, you just don't know it. If your gym routine is consistent and you have plenty of energy to go, knock off a little food. Eat just a little less. I'm not a firm believer in the eat more, lose less diet, but eat wise, eat less, burn more, and you lose weight. You can't argue science. Little to no saturated fat, little to no sugar, lots of protein, low overall caloric intake.

nope.

Gatorade is 130 per bottle
brown rice cup as per label is 120 on mine.
grilled chicken is 110 calories for every 4oz
brocolli is 50, your right on that.

Lets add it up

sorry, 520 calories.

and special k with berries is 150 with skim milk, says it on the label and box. lol

I forgot the banana, relax.

agreed. the diet is just poorly constructed and not very well thought out.

protein isn't spread throughout the day evenly enough..

caloric intake on certain meals are too high compared to overall caloric intake..

intake of carbs are timed horribly..

and overall poor-moderate quality of foods being chosen for the intake of proteins, carbs, and fats throughout the day

Like I said, this is something brand new and not even a couple days old. I'm curious with how much you know and what not, how do you suppose I lost so much weight since everything I say sucks? Tell me.

You sent me your diet before, had a personal body builder friends, etc look at it and they said that was terrible. They're nearly 3x your size though, probably wouldn't know nothing about eating right or lifting.

I don't know what gatorade you're drinking (propel or g2 maybe???), and you can't argue with the labels on the other stuff. For the special k I "ass"umed you were talking about a special k bar.

So you are taking in 1500 calories (with what amounts to minimal fat and sugar), going to the gym every day, and still not losing any weight now that you lost the first 100.

I'm stumped. I don't care how much sugar or fat is in it, it's still odd.

not the HUGE gatorade, just the little screw top bottle. 50 calores per 8oz serving, 2.5 servings per bottle, 130 calories total. sugar is there, 35g I think total, but its one bottle here and there.

You're stumped? What about me! I mean I plataued before, but it went away after 2 weeks. I mean total since oct 1st I lost maybe 10lbs. I knew it would slow up, thats why I tried to change it up a bit. IDK I changed my cardio around, got more intence with that, i dont know. Do I need to video tape myself? Ask my two buddies who I go to the gym with, im there saturday-thursday 3hrs a day man.

BTW, I was eating a little less. People were argueing with me saying I needed to eat more, cheat like charly says, etc. I just don't believe in that as it seems you dont either.

No saturated fat in my diet at all, barely any fat, everything is lean. IDK wtf

2 months, 10 pounds? That's really not that all that bad. 5 pounds per month is decent progress for how far you came. Stop looking at the scale all the time, keep doing what you're doing and in another 6 months and you'll be down to 180.

I was thinking that you weren't losing any weight at all. In 6 months I went from 210 to 175, with the same progress as you (5 pounds per month). I looked at the scale maybe 2 times throughout the 6 months.

what's your point? I have had body builder friends tell me I'm doing everything right? what do you want, our body builder friends to have a pose off? and great, your body builder friends who are 3x my size want to say my diet is terrible. if I ever wanted to be bodybuilder and/or 3x my size (which I never want to be), I would say my diet is terrible too. please, go ask your buddies why my diet sucks and explain it to me.

I should've mentioned this first, but weren't you the one in this thread asking for help? you patronize me and try to insult my intelligence because you don't take criticism well, even though you're the one to ask for help.

6 months for 30lbs? Idk, has to be faster than that lol. I just hope I break through it or next time I get on the scale its 10lbs lighter.

My body size is changing, but the scale isnt! You know what I mean? like I definately have good size up top on me.

I think that you're over thinking. Most sane people would be happy with a 5 pound continuous loss per month after a 100+ pound drop. I was always taught that is what is healthy (1-2 pounds per week).

I did re-read it. I don't see it.

yes I agree, don't ask for my help next time. I'm sure your bodybuilder friends who are 3x my size can better assist you in your endeavors to get down to around my weight.

D, if things aren't going as you want right now... wouldn't it make sense to try something new? i'm not saying charly is 100% right... but he knows more than anone i know about this stuff. you asked for some help, and he told you his honest interpretation and all you're doing is saying he's wrong because you stuff has been working... up until now.

the body needs a shock, a change to your plan, in order to advance.
