what kinda camera zach? im thinking wanting to get into photography but dont know the first thing about where to start

Best bet, IMO - buy a used (lightly) Canon Rebel XTi camera with the kit lens (18-55mm EF-S) and grab a 2-4 GB CF card. Teach yourself to shoot with the kit lens, and you'll be off to a good start, IMO. Another way to do it - take an introductory photography course at your community college, and pick up a cheam 35mm camera (Ricoh KR-5 is a great candidate). Doing a semester of film photography is a good way to get the basics down, as long as your teacher is competent. Also - check out http://photography-on-the.net I'd sell you my XT + kit lens if I was in the market to upgrade right now, but I can't afford to without a job.
