alright, I'll try my best and if it doesn't work out I'm going to contact SOA.

Silicone ruins paint and body work when it is fresh. Considering it takes 3 months for paint to cure, the new Infiniti's you were getting were probably shipped straight from the dealership. So if you got a silicone based product that was strong enough, it could have been baking the paint if it wasn't already protected. Such as wax/teflon/zylon/colinite/whatever Infiniti may use.

I also work as a detailer at a dealership with a body shop. Any new vehicle that may need to be resprayed or any kind of body work, must be washed and made sure NO silicone products are used on the car before it goes in to the body shop. If so, the paint wont adhere, bondo wont adhere, glue wont adhere and so on. It's very touchy.

black is very easy to spot imperfections hence the reason why u can see all the dents in a black car compared to say a red or white car.

True, I have so many scratches that randomly appear daily because of this ****ty paint. I sent them an email earlier to schedule an appointment, so I'll update as I hear from them.

Toyota paint blows in general. You should see the front of my xA.

You'd think Lexus paint was good... yeah, think again. I worked at a Lexus dealer for a year. Combined with ignorant and lazy customers that don't take care of the paint, it's even worse.

They'll probably pull the, 'we're not going to take care of it until there's a hole through the metal' BS that I've heard of some dealers doing. Raise hell.

a friend had a similar problem on his 09' lancer... just a few months old and he noticed a rust spot on the roof.

he took it in and they told him it wasn't their problem, he was very persistent but got zero help.

he contacted their traveling paint/ paintless dent guy and he was kind enough to take care of that spot for next to nothing, but the dealership themselves sucked for support.

Most new cars have a rust warranty, to what extent I do not know, but most have a 24-36 month deal I believe

Subaru black is so bad, its like it leaves SOA without a clear coat. I honestly stopped washing my 05 Impreza after a year because every time I did, there were more and more scratches. Had the rust stuff too on my back quater, at the top near the trunk, dealership (Glanzzman in Jenkintown) told me it was my fault because something must have pushed that area up, thus caused the paint to crack and rust. Ya cuz I roll around with dead hookers in my truck all the time. I ended up just touching that area up.

If there is not a warranty on the paint there is still a good chance the dealer will make it right for you if you make a big enough stink about it. How long ago did you buy the subaru and did you receive a Survey in the mail asking about your experience there. If so don't send the survey in until you have spoken with them, dealerships will be more inclined to give you what you want if they know the survey hasn't come in yet. Dealers are paid on customer satisfaction from the manufacturer so a real bad survey can cost them hundreds of thousands of dollars. Use that as a barganing point.

that survey comes at the most a week after purchase. my advise to you (im a sales rep for acura) is to speak with the sales rep who sold you the car, and if hes not help go straight to the GM. not the service manager, sales manager. the GENERAL manage. make it a huge deal if they dont cooperate. start off subtle and if your not getting help then turn into a dick.

Slidewayz, what brand was the tire shine?

Subaru paint IS the worst. After they would sit on the lot for a few months, acid rain spots would become almost permanently embedded in the paint. We'd have to buff the entire car down for a good hour.

Listen to egmatt, sales associates are concerned about a their reputation alot more than a service writer. General manager will almost have to do something about it, especially if you end up having to take it to SOA. Theyre more concerned about their image than the money that might be spent.

you should defintely have your dealer look at that. I remember working at the dealership were i worked at and I happened to be cleaning one of the new H3T and there was a rust spot on top of the roof it ended up being a manufacture defect.
