Can you now see how the gentleman in the photo and soley what this thread was about would feel have it be that he stumbled upon this thread?

I think, maybe, judging someone and making false assumptions about their appearance through text is quite a bit different than making the connection that someone doesn't care about their weight when they are obviously over weight and buying tons of Entenmann's are on two different levels.

Entirely too long of a sentence and probably awkwardly worded, but I think you see my point.

then say that from the beginning. you going on and on about me being skinny, not being able to lift 150lbs, etc is just completely uncalled for. you know for a fact that I congratulated you for accomplishing what you accomplished. My posts earlier in this thread were simply to point out that this guy is not or was not helping himself out by buying what he was buying. not that hes a terrible person, etc.

I apologize but the way I worded it I thought as if you would pick up on it. Everything I said was questionable, more along the lines of what kind of person would write these things.

I appriciate your compliments and I did say thank you when you wrote them. I take nothing away from that, but you can atleast see why a subject like this would get me touchy. I know what it takes to change your life in a complete 180, it's not easy.

Basically dude, I didn't really mean those things I was saying them to show you what it would feel like being on the other side.

Who is to say he doesn't care about his weight? Maybe he thinks he's at the point of no turning back. Anyone overweight can assure you that they at some point had that feeling...

i gotta agree...

there is a huge difference in being over weight, realizing it, and doing something about it... and being over weight, realizing it, and not doing anything about it... AND being over weight, realizing it, and eating like a damn pig.

and if you're over weight, and don't realize it... there is a mental problem there. (honestly, there is a mental disability there if you're obese and don't realize it)

I'm not saying there is anything inherently wrong with a person for being over weight... but don't expect NOT to be made fun of, ridiculed, or otherwise looked down upon for being an UNHEALTHILY large individual and buying 5 lbs of junk food as a snack.

That is unacceptable... obviously, and I assume you got to that point by your tone in this thread you've been there... so you, above all, should know that it is unacceptable to have that thought.

If you didn't think it was unacceptable, you would not be doing what you're doing now... which is highly admirable. People everywhere have things that they "just accept" as unavoidable... being overweight, having a drug problem, alcoholism, etc... it is unacceptable to think, "i can't stop" or "i can't change"

and the people that realize that, make the change to do something to better themselves, their life, and their health

Okay, so what you're saying is if you CARE about your weight, you buy $52 worth of Entenmann's? I'm not talking about caring in the sense of him feeling crappy about himself, I'm talking about caring as in wanting to do something about it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

I appreciate your apology, really. Of course im not going to take kindly to someone coming at me the way you did. Basically my only point in my posts was to say that he knows hes overweight, but i was assuming(of course) that he was not willing to do anything about it by what he was buying. of course they may not have been for him, which i also said in one of my posts. Nobody knows for sure what he was doing, and/or thinking. we're all making assumptions, but based on the picture provided the assumptions arent going to be optimistic.

What I have done in the past 7 months of my life is just short of absolutely crazy. If you asked the people I told when I started, they would have told you there is no ****ing way in hell he will pull through with this.

It taks MAJOR dedication, bro. I spend 18hrs a week in the gym, on top of work and being full time in school. It's my life now, 100% my life, and I took control. Do you see that I even put building my car on hold for this whole time? Its all worth it to me, just hearing people be like omfg, look at you dude. It makes my ****ing world and I wouldn't go back for ANYTHING!

With that said comes all the hard times saying get your ass to the gym, dont order that cheesesteak, sit here and watch your friends eat mcdonalds as you pretend that grilled chicken wrap tastes good. You know how many nights I stayed at the gym til 1-2am and had work the next morning? I don't have enough fingers, toes, or body parts. I can honestly say that unless I brainwashed myself and kept saying it would work, I wouldn't have saw the success that I have thus far. That, and a ****ing jerkoff nutrionist who said I could never do it. Guess what mother****er, see you in 2 months and you won't even recognize me! I hope his mouth his the ****ing floor, then he gets the middle finger, and im out!

I too am really proud of what you're doing for yourself. It's really, really noteworthy that you are making such a big commitment and change to better yourself, health wise and physically. I'm just saying you personalized this whole thing entirely too much.

haha, i hear ya man. But it seems like one of your biggest motivators is the nutritionist telling you that you couldn't do it.

I really wonder if this dude in the pic... if he saw this thread... would he make the same decision you did? would he say, "wtf?!?!... fine... i'm sick of this, i'm going to lose weight"

We'll never know... i doubt he knows this thread is here...

me... i got lucky that i don't gain weight... muscle mass unfortunately... but i'm ****ing lazy anymore, and it kills me... i need to buy myself a bench for my apartment and start lifting again and get myself back in lifting mode

right now it would just be a pathetic site in the gym at work... and i'm to vain to look that pathetic when we've got a ton of hot chicks at work that use the gym too lol

man, i need to start working out again... i lost everything i gained from before... used to be at the gym 4 days a week... it was great... now... psh... i'm a lazy sack... maybe next weekend i'll purchase that bench for my apartment instead of saving it for either my truck or a new computer

My only advise is that no one is looking at you in the gym. They're all there to better themselves physically, as you are, most could really care less about anything other than the progress of their own bodies. Do you man, go to the gym, and get YOUR workout done. **** everyone else.

i hate that.

my first day ever working out at a gym was at a Bally's... i had a trainer who was an ex marine...

he pushed the hell out of me... and i lifted...

i was in bed for two days after that before i could move my arms... they were ****ed up... over did it big time...

gotta take it slow getting back in, get the body ready... then hit it... i love lifting... the world just seems so much brighter after a hard work out
