Haha alright. I may just hold onto my money because of the crumbling economy. This has definitely dampened my enthusiasm, but that is a another story altogether!

In regards to stock twins, this is my timeline:

1. 100% stock Supra dynoed 302rwhp, 300 tq
2. BPU mods (no fmic/intake) in Sequential
3. Seq->TTC, because Seq wasn't smooth
4. TTC->Seq, I just wanted to try it out, and then realized what I've been missing all this time. Seq is the ****, and TTC lag is horrible
5. Figuring out what to do, and bryan is getting me all jealous with his build

Bryan its a lot of work - I thought about it. I shaved about 15 - 20 studs and bolt holes on my car using a grinder and a MIG welder and it sucked. I don't support using body filler for holes - gotta weld... then when you weld you gotta grind, then you grind, you risk grinding too much and leaving a mark.

Its not easy. yours is fine!

Thats a big jump - I wouldn't consider that. I'd go 67 to a 76, and then from a 76 i'd go to a 47. 45 is that lame turbo that no one loves

Then there's really nothing else I could possibly do before the engine gets dropped in.

I think I've decided to take the safe, slightly longer road. Going to drop the engine in first, so it shouldnt require much wiggling and banging up of the fresh paint in the bay. Then we'll put the trans in from below after that.
no no no no dont

put the trans on outside and put it in together - trust me, theres no better way. It really sucks putting the engine in bare because you dont have much to counter balance. I put my engine/trans in my car together - its the way to go seriously.

If you want **** cleaned up let me know I'll blast.

good point, forgot about the balance of the engine only... hmm guess i'll bolt them together out of the car and just go very slow and be careful putting them in together. going to need a leveller for that as well but shouldnt be expensive.

as for blasting... i'll let ya know, thanks for the offer. my abs unit is nasssty but i think i'm going to wire wheel and jsut paint it silver, unless you think it would be better to just blast and are willing to do it. its something i'd like to get done sooner rather than later if possible though.

I like my turbo manifold and don't want to have to change it, that's my main reason for going to the 4508. If the 4508 won't fit properly on the manifold I have, then I'm going to jump up to a T6 divided and probably jump to a 47-88, but that's my car...not Bryan's. He has a 67 and it's gonna be niiiiiicccceeeeee. We're gonna have just about twin cars. lol

I've heard the same thing about the 45s... most recommend just doing a 47... and honestly your mani shouldnt dictate the turbo you run especially when there are good and somewhat affordable T6 manifolds out there... but hey its all money so easy does it...
Now... is my car going to be running before yours? We've both gotta be at etown on the 25th... and Rich too although that might not be too realistic.

I just asked Rich about the 25th about an hour ago. He said it'll be done and tuned before then. he's actually in the garage right now with Mike working on it. He's got some hardware to put back on and it should be ready for startup soon.

Ok so things haven't been moving along quite as swiftly as I had hoped, but such is life.
I'm headed over there tonight to hopefully make some solid progress. Fred is meeting me over there to finish the injector wiring which will let me install the intake manifold and finish things up as far as the engine goes.
Here's my little guide on how things have to go back together on the intake mani...

Throttle body has also been cleaned up and the traction control flapper has been deleted

Stock injector clips with wiring color code guide for new injectors...

Injectors and pigtails in place, prepped to be wired into the harness

On the engine bay side of things, well... I broke my ABS unit because I took out a few too many screws and the damn thing split in half on me, revealing an electric motor inside which had carbon pads, springs, and wires that all unloaded on me, never to be reassembled again. After a day or so of debating whether to take that as a sign to just ditch my ABS, I decided to play it safe and get another ABS unit and continue on. I now have the replacement ABS unit and can continue to move forward.

old ABS unit apart... woops. see the 4 carbon pads pointed toward the center? they were springloaded and wouldnt stay in place at all, springs were removed for this photo

I plan to paint the ABS unit and the brake booster black tonight so they both have clean finishes to mask their currently worn and beaten looking appearance. Once they are dry I can install both of them along with the master cylinder and the brake lines in the engine bay. I can also reinstall the clutch master cylinder as well.
Its also time to put the AC lines back in the engine bay as well as the AC condenser and start figuring out that maze of lines and brackets. Of course this will not all get done tonight, but hopefully some of it will.
The other project lined up right now is to install the fuel pump hanger back into the fuel tank, and install the fuel tank back into the car. This requires a few lines to be ran to/from the tank as well, but will be a good thing to get out of the way.

I pretty much just listed everything that has to happen before the engine goes back in... really hoping to start banging this stuff out and make some noticeable progress. I've learned by now though that when things finally start to come together, its all the little things that'll slow the progress down. I'm doing what I can here though...

Also bought this today... its a replica of the Boost Logic 4" Downpipe / Midpipe. From what I've read it may need to be modded slightly to fit, but it costs about $300 compared to $900 for the Boost Logic unit... so I'm ok with that.

if your really worried about the engine bay paint...the safest way to do it is to bolt the trans and motor together outside the car, drop the front subframe and rack and everything...bolt the motor to the subframe...then lower the car onto the assy.

This is assuming your using a lift and such....

no lift ... i did consider borrowing some 18 wheeler sized jack stands and jack from a friend to get the car nice and high in the air, but even with that i'm not sure if we'd be able to slide the engine underneath.
