I figured out the manual settings on the camera so here are a few pics, unfortunately one burried itself so I wasn't going to bother it fot a pic. This is the larger Arizona bark.

Definately, just like any other pet if you know what you are doing you don't have to worry. But I will admit I take extra caution with the Arizona barks, they are the only species I currently have that are concitered medically signifigant (potentially deadly), but I'm sure they won't be the last.

Scorpions are of the Arachnid family, so resemblance isn't rare.

I love scorpions, I just have an overall fear of being stung and the possibility of being allergic to the venom.

x2!!

We had to get rid of the palm tree that was outside our house b/c roaches and scorpions nested in them. I would have to shake out my sneakers everyday before I went to school. So you are saying you can ingest the venom but not die, but don't get stung? What's the difference?

Venom needs to enter the bloodstream to have any effect, if you were to drink it it would not harm you (I guess it could if you had cuts in your mouth or stomach ulsers). Poison is usually administered by contact with skin or by being swallowed. Some toxins are both but scorpion toxin is not.

If you are careful you don't need to be worried about being stung. I have been keeping scorpions for about 10 years now and have never been stung.

You could also look into getting an emperor, they are easy to find, big, scary looking, and their venom is practically harmless. The worst allergic reaction I have heard of from one was swelling in the hand and a tingly feeling up the arm and both went away in a couple hours with the only treatment being a cold compress. Unfortunately they are not very active and spend most of their time hiding.
