recommended M/T rebuild shops...

I was debating on posting this here or under "drivetrain", but I'm looking for a shop, so "networking" it is. Can anyone recommend a good, trust worthy shop to rebuild an S13 KA manual transmission? I live in a small enough area that there aren't any places (that I'm aware/familiar with) that I could have rebuild it. So that leaves me to have to travel a little. I'm looking for a rebuild over the winter on my spare tranny so I can install it come spring time.

Also, does anyone have even a slight idea on what a job like that usually costs? Thanks in advance.

But what if they encouraged it AND the stickers turn out to be awesome? They COULD POSSIBLY say something like "I love Mike and would turn gay for his tattooed, bmw driving, new york living ass". just saying.

Without having any real idea on cost (and really still without knowing), I was thinking around a grand. Does anyone know of a place that they would recommend?

My mechanic in NE Philly on Frankford ave has rebuilt two MTs for me and so far I've had no problems with his work ever. That might be too far for you though.

See that's the thing. Since there aren't any around me that I would want to work with, I know I'm going to have to travel. Unlike a lot of people, I don't mind driving if I know it's worth the drive. Philly isn't out of the question. I just don't want to take it all the way down there unless the place I'm going to is highly recommended.
