questions about dc2 gsr
im going to possibly be picking up a gsr for a steal. it is going to be a small project for me, pretty much what i wanna do is a jdm front conversion with a type r motor. hondata s300 and all the basic bolt ons. im wonder where i can pick up most of the parts without having to buy stuff online. but i will need a new quarter panel since the one on is pretty bad and i dont want to go and buy a brand new one from acura. anyone wanna give me some help????? thanks tretiak |

best place you can find a jdm front and pick it up in person would be searchin for one on like honda-tech. r/t tuning is a good place to go to. if u are picking up a gsr i wouldnt swap a itr motor in it just build the gsr

You're not going to be able to buy a new quarter panel anywhere. You will need to have the piece cut out and rewelded/formed by a body shop.

sovxietday-well i took auto collison in vo tech so body work isnt really a big deal.
jdm-i was also thinking about build the gsr and putting the itr head on it, or just building the gsr head with bc cams and doing a forced induction setup on it. dragon-yeah i was looking on elites website and found everything but the hood and headlights for the conversion. thanks guys anymore input would great be appericated as i am not a honda person im just getting a really good deal on the car. |

elite has alot more than their website says, just take a trip down or call. Also, you can buy quarter panels from aftermarket companies. I found them for my teg, but they were like 280 a side i think. It wasnt the whole panel either, just the typical rust area. Your best bet is to either cut it out, reshape and weld back in, or better yet to reshape while on the car.

just did the research again, i was looking at used panels. You should be able to find one on an on-line junkyard although shipping will be a bitch. Basically they cut out what you tell them too and ship it to you.

its pretty beat up. the guys brother hit something and i guess he thought he could use a regular hammer on it and there is all kinds of high spots. maybe ill just get one from ezpull. if they have any.
i was checking out password:jdm and found they have a complete 98+ type r front clip with the hid headlights and to convert the car to rhd which i planned on doing anyway for 6200.heres the link http://passwordjdm.com/JDM-DC2-98-In...P1589C216.aspx Last edited by tretiak; 09-01-2008 at 11:51 PM. |

1. rebuild the GSR motor... upgrade where you see fit. 2. buy the peakboost GT30R kit. 3. buy the engine management of your choice. 4. drop your car off at Evans Tuning or any of the shops here on TST 5. enjoy a safe/daily drivable 400+hp to the wheels. 6. forget about the JDM front end/RHD conversion and put the money in the bank instead. just my $0.02

Honestly, the JDM front stopped turning heads about 2 years ago lol.
Today in the honda world, unoriginal is the new original, if you know what I mean.

jdm front just expedites the theft processes. NOT worth the attention from the JDM fanboiz. Type R lip and call it a day. Like sovxiet said, clean and oem is the new original. And at least a few years down the road, it won't look hideous like the rice fad.
