Factory frontmount I guess. The car is built off the C1 platform, same as the euro spec focus and mazda 3. Pretty neat. Tad under 3000lb according to wikipedia.

Yeah, you are right. Last turn into the straight on Thunderbolt. Same turn that Scott Pruett crashed on. Matter of fact a Ferrari was totalled in the same spot the Saturday before me. The median that separates the pit entry from the straight can really upset the balance of your car. A small correction at the wrong possible time sent me into an uncorrectable spin out into the wall.

Damn man sorry to hear that, I was looking into running the Z there one time but now im a little hesitant... After hearing about all the wrecks. Hope they get that section fixed soon or there going to have alot to be paying.

Thanks man. Its a nice facility. I lot of people have questioned that turn but I guess all tracks have their faults. My only suggestion would be to wait until they get some grass grown. Alot of dirt gets thrown on the track during any offs. Personnel at the track were unbelievably professional and courteous during the whole thing.

Tell you this much - no one will ever tell me Vettes are dangerous cars. Other than the airbags going off and the rear view mirror flying off you would never know that car was in an accident from the inside. Held up perfect. Walked away with a small bruise from the seatbelt and a slight bruise on my left hand knuckle (think the airbag threw my hand into the windshield).

In the front straight I was getting into 4th. Id guess I was starting to get back into it in 3rd. Most estimated 90-ish before sliding like 60 yards.

Most of the track is pretty predictable. That turn is obviously tricky and you want to take it easy through the large S portion. I think we counted like 4 Porsches that went off in the S's.

Totally bummed. I bought that car (a 97) about 3 years ago with 3k miles on it! It was so clean and I took good care of it.

Thanks for the suggestion, guess ill go sometime next year in the spring or summer. One of the track personell work with me, he does the sound (measures the noise of the cars). Hes a pretty strange guy, but hes nice and always willing to help. Would expect the others to be the same. Good to hear there all good guys.

You dont hear about many deaths in vettes, besides when a teens get one and well we all know that story...

Be more than happy to tell you more about the track before you go. I HAD all the turns down pretty good. I had like three people in my group ask to follow my lines.
