Computer monitor is dying

My monitor now has a very blue haze to it. I can still use it but it is very hard to look at. I tried the monitor on another computer it the house and on my DVD player and got the same results. Anyone know what would cause this? Its a 20" flat panel LCD and I think its about 4 years old.

I just ordered up a 19" wide screen monitor which will hopefully be here this week.

Its an LCD monitor, they are not affected by magnets like a CRT monitor.

if it's an analog cable, the signal can be affected by magnetic fields. It likely wouldn't be an even blue haze. It is likely the backlight that's giving out. Especially if it's that old. Pics?

My video card has DVI, VGA, and s-video outputs. My monitor has all the same inputs plus composite video. Everything I tried yielded the same results on two computers and a DVD player. I have yet to try a different monitor on my computer, but I think it is just the monitor since it was the same on another computer and DVD player.

I was thinking the backlight, but it could actually be the sheet in front of the backlight that produces the pixels. Either way, its definitely the monitor, and it's definitely toast. Time for a

have you unplugged the cable recently? you may have damaged one or more of the pins. remove the cable and make sure all the pins are straight and going into the proper slots when plugged in, and especially not touching each other.

much like a car stereo, each individual pin has a function,.. so perhaps your red and green pins are not properly seated,.. giving everything an overly blue haze.

if you've tried different cables with the same results you can pretty much rule this out

I tried every input the monitor has: DVI, VGA, s video, and composite. I got the same blue haze on everyone. The new monitor should be here tomorrow and I'll add this one to the pile of computer junk I am slowly building. Thanks guys for the help.
