Well I shot with a non-IS at night and I saw that with a nice sturdy tripod, I didnt have a problem. I would assume during the day, I could keep the shutter speeds in a good range seeing as its got the f/4.

Ill research more on the lens, and see how much they are used.

I also remember seeing a Sigma 70-200 F/2.8 for about the same money as the Canon 70-200 F/4 L but BH now says the Sigma has been discontiniued

dont do sigma, go canon. used 70-200 F4's are 500ish.

Ehh, thats kinda pricey for me but Ill see if I can find one cheaper

I just picked up the Canon 55-250 last week, shot all weekend with it, and I'm VERY impressed. The IS is incredible and for the money I don't know if this lens can be beat...
