targus makes backpacks and laptop bags.. and now batt grips? hmm.. stick with Nikon. i had the "OEM" canon grip for mine and i never once had a problem. hell for that matter every single thing i had was canon.

i look at it the same way as modifying a car. when building a Honda (for example), if 90% of your upgrades came in the red sticker honda packaging, when something goes wrong you can go to Honda and say "WTF'z Up?? i bought this sh*t from you!" lol. buy 'OEM' and everything will go smoother.

do you really need a battery grip? the only one i would trust is nikon, and they dont make one for the 40/x.

Targus makes a lot more than bags. They make laptop batteries, power inverters, keyboards, mice and a TON of other stuff. I had no idea they made camera stuff though.

FWIW, I sell a lot of Targus brand product at work, and usually the quality is top notch.

This one doesn't look bad. http://cgi.ebay.com/Pro-Hand-Battery...d=p3286.c0.m14

I got a Targus for my canon 20D and it was exactly like my brothers OEM canon bg-e2 except the batteries go in sideways instead of from the back. The one in the OP looks like crap though. mine is heavy plastic with the bottons and grip.

Mine is just as fast. And I also have the scroll wheel on my grip. My grip is for a D200, though.

I would hate my camera without the grip... it'd just feel so small to me!
