CHAOS- there are some things we can change, and some we can't. Our country's "system" is very well set-up and protected by the people it serves, the richest 2%.

The US will not "collapse", but we are def going to see some MAJOR changes as teh baby-boomers all get old and retire and the new generations come on.

Twas- yeah, i didn't realize the orange account was 3%, Captain really helped me to figure it out.

How much are you making in your savings account? If it is more than the rate of inflation, you are losing, but at least you are fighting inflation to a degree. I'm not saying your money is worthless, but it is losing worth.

KoD, if you are interested in saving you money with fair returns, look into TIPS (treasury inflation protected securities) Basically they are bonds that have inflation adjustments built in so that you receive a certain return, even if inflation goes to 5%, you will still end up with x% of your initial investment over inflation.

If you're just looking to make a few bucks on money you have sitting around, look into an hsbc online account. 3.5%

What?

How is Bush at fault for what the Fed does?

The Federal Reserve isn't fully a government institution, and doesn't have to get permission from congress or the pres.

The only way for this **** to get better, is for someone like Ron Paul to dismantle the Fed. There is no reason for it, other than to get bankers rich.
