yeah i know!! took me 2 years to become an Apexi Power Excel tuner, they are pretty selective. But we will see

i know i'm trying... and i swear, if my car is on the road before tims... he's a total failure.
i plan on spending a few days there this week and also get the bay ready for paint on saturday... things should really start to shape up now... i have some pics to post shortly of the recent progress, nothing too visually stimulating though.

and i talked to the paint shop today... he said it was just 'toyota black' which is 202 but they used ppg paint so i'm assuming they used their pgg 099 or whatever it is...

If they used 202, I'll look up the mix tomorrow and order it and a hose.

Well again the guy didnt give me a definite. He said he only had limited info about the paint job, but that 'they would have just repainted it the stock color' which sounds like an educated guess at best. He wasn't that into giving me info about a job that they did for someone else unfortunately.
How different would the 202 and 099 be? For the engine bay at least a minor difference shouldnt be very noticeable, but hopefully we can get it the same.

I searched 099 at work the other day and it came up as a brown color, non Toyota. The other guys just said that that sounds like a standard black color.

Paint code 202 works tho and is the stock Black for Supras from 1985-1998.

Nice pick-up on that exhaust, i was just reading an old magazine with an exhaust comparison for supras. I think they tested either 10 or 12 differant ones. The Veilside and thermal r&d were the best two. Curious how much you picked up the veilside for thou if you don't mind sharing.

Yeah the Veilside body kit for the Supra is terrible, haha. A lot of the body kits for Supras are terrible actually... I blame the 90s for it. Don't really plan to do much with the exterior of this car as far as body kits go, and if I do it'll be very clean and simple. The plan is to keep stock body and just always be rocking badass wheels.

I picked up the Veilside exhaust this afternoon... its awesome. Great condition and unbelievably light... you'd really have to pick it up to understand. Its a 7' long pipe with flanges, hangers, and a muffler, and it weighs 9 lbs total... totally insane.

I'm uploading pics now from last night... I stayed real late and got a lot of little necessary stuff done.
-sealed up the 8 holes left behind from the previous owner's harness mounts. Used bolts, washers, nuts, dynamat from the inside and rubberized undercoating from the outside.
-put back on oil filter housing, engine mounts, coolant hard line onto the block after painting.
-put back on all accessories, pullies, belts, and timing belt covers... front of the engine is all buttoned up
-fred helped with the wiring of the dual pump setup in tank so thats ready to get sealed up
-i pulled the trans cause it was kind of in the way
-dropped the entire front crossmember as per the painter's request
-removed the entire fuel tank breather hard line from the front to the back of the car. will replace it with a short soft line that vents at the rear
-cleaned up and swept up the work area... and it needed it

brake cleaner, wire brush, clean rag, masked, 2 coats of high temp paint

hanger doesnt want to sit flush in the tank, cant figure out why... when i spin it 60 degrees it sits flush but its not lined up properly then


wtf... previous owner decided to make swiss cheese out of the pass side trans tunnel. no idea why... gotta seal it up though (lit from the back to see the holes easily)

trans out... 6 speed, just as strong as the sti gearbox, except considerably smaller and lighter, weird.

ha yeah i thought about that as i was typing it... i didnt think they'd make up too much weight but i guess they are probably some of the biggest gears inside the trans. i'm talking though i can lift this trans by myself, and the sti trans takes 2 people and is still heavy.

anyway, leaving now to go paint the engine bay. sweet.
