Wrecked their co-signed car in May. Won't sign the insruance paperwork. They offered close to the payoff of the loan which is more then I expected being that I see the car selling for less then that everyday. Since then, interest has been accumulating on the loan and now there is atleast $1200+ difference and gettign worse every day.

We got the bank to differ the loan for 2 months because the insurance company was initially being really slow about it.

Now he won't return calls or emails form us, the bank, or the insruance.

Now the loan payments are due and there is no resolution i nsight.

We spoke to the bank and they offered to repo the car so they can accept the insruacne money without his approval. We are still deciding if the repo is thebest action.
Any advise?

Well your gonna have to pay for it, unfortunately he and she are both equally responsible for the remaining balance. So your choices are;

A)Settle this in court
*Chances of this dude showing up (SLIM) Chances of wasting your money (HUGE)

B) If the car is sought after part it out.
*Most cases the car is worth nothing.

C)Get a hold of the insurance company total the car out and start paying on it.
*Then if you want seek compensation from the Ex R-Tard do so.

D)Take ex-boyfriend to said crack house then set said crack house on fire.
*No body likes crack heads or punk ass ex boyfriends. It's the classic two birds one stone scenario.
~NOTE: You will then have to pay the note off with no compensation.

Maybe it's possible you don't have all your facts straight. Maybe that's also why you ask TST for help on such personal issues that you love to be involved in. Just beat his ass before the prick does first.

Your best bet would be to have the car repo'd. That way the loan ends, the bank gets the money and you can both wash your hands of the mess.

The only thing you might to find out before doing that would be to ask the bank if they are going to put that one her credit report. Try to negioate that they do not mark up her credit.

Getting a lawyer to get him to pay will only cost you money up front with hopes of him paying later. A judgement against a deadbeat is pretty worthless.

do what you can to resolve it, otherwise suck it up to one of those very expensive valuable life lessons and move on. i think too many people draw these things out and end up getting themselves into a bigger pile of **** because they don't feel they should be responsible. they both signed the paper they are both equally responsible. if one backs down on their responsibilities the other must take over.
lesson to be learned, NEVER CO-SIGN unless married or a parent.

off topic but, i was dating a girl, co-signed for a phone for her, we stopped dating, she ran the bill up to $600 and left it to me to pay.
(i learned a valuable lesson)
