We are one of the richest countries in the world... why are children starving?

Instead of spending $10 billion in a month on these wars, we should be taking that money and helping the people in the world who really need it.

It sickens me.

And I'm not saying that the US should be the savior of the world. What I'm saying is that with all of our money and influence, we should be doing more to help less fortunate people.

Well, that is one reason why you should be thankful you're in the country you're in, and we have what we have. We can't save everyone or fix every damn problem there is. And we may be one of the richest countries in the world, but how about feeding our own people instead? I can't stand the Angelia Jolie's of the world that go adopt child from other countries. Hey, WAKE UP, we have children that are in similar situations here. BLAH. Lets get our **** figured out and fixed first before he go bail out other countries. Yes, it is sad, and Yes it would be nice if we could help. But, we need to get our Country squared away first.

i'm not talking about us as individuals... i'm talking about the country itself, the government. we owe billions to other countries from loans

I hope you don't mean by the new President pulling out of an unfinished war. I don't understand that thought process either. Pulling out of an unfinished war and leaving an undeveloped government to fend for itself would be comparable to stopping Chemotherapy before the cancer was gone. The cancer might stop growing for a bit, but after awhile it's going to come back and come back with a vengeance.

Just my thought, I am not agreeing or promoting the war, but, we are there and it needs to be finished and finished properly. Or else you may see a similar story on Iraqi children a few years down the line.
