depends , Usually most people say is bad. I think it depends because my car was a salvage but it was rebuilt by me and the car runs smooth . It was involved in a front end accident and was consider total so yeah it all depends on the condition.

Bad idea that's why most banks won't even touch it, the only way I'd do it is if I bought it and fixed it myself there is way to many shady shops that butcher cars.

Unless you are looking to build a track car or can get a REALLY good deal on it, bad idea.

If the price reflects the title status, and you have proof of the work done to fix the car, I see no reason not to buy a salvage. Salvage is something to stay away from for two reasons- resale is bull****, and you dont necessarily know if the car was fixed properly. If you can buy it at that already deflated salvage price, then the only other issue is whether the car has been fixed properly. I bought a '91 Integra in '03 for $1000 with a salvage title. Wrecked it and resold it for $1500. It really depends why it was salvaged. Mine had been in a low speed front ender that bent the rad support. Not a huge deal in my eyes. I like to look for cars that were hit light enough to not do much damage, but hard enough to pop the airbags. Sometimes the airbags will go off when the collision was sub 15mph, and in that scenario you can really come out ahead. Popped airbags usually totals a vehicle, so if you can get a salvaged vehicle at 60percent of market value, and fix it for not much money, you can do alright. You just need to be VERY careful. Question everything, go over the car with a fine tooth comb.

If you are someone who can turn a wrench, saving the money on a salavage is more then worth it.

If it is a salvage title then you cant register it until the car is fixed and sent to an enhanced inspection station, then you have to send paper work off to penndot and wait for them to approve it and send you back a reconstructed title also known as an R title.

If the price is right and the damage isn't too bad I don't really see a problem buying a salvage titled car.

On the other hand If its an R title(meaning its already been wrecked and fixed) I would be a little hesitant about it.
