DPancoast 09-15-2009 05:51 PM

that's a little awesome

driftingrx5.7 09-15-2009 09:55 PM

wow that is nice i like that!

Honduh 09-15-2009 09:59 PM

Two questions:

Is that a ford 4.6?

Why the heavy square tubing instead of tubular?

DocWalt 09-15-2009 10:45 PM

It's the Tau V8. Click the link for more info...

evomike 09-15-2009 10:56 PM

What is that gonna be used for?

turboman808 09-15-2009 10:56 PM

Whats the point? Not gonna be faster or handle better. Contrary to popular belief just throwing the motor in the back doesn't make a car more balanced, especialy not in a car designed to have it's engine in the front.

If they really needed a better balanced car they could have gone to a rear mounted transmission front mounted motor like on many race cars.

This is just boner material for ricers.

However that is a very sweet transmission that they are using.

DocWalt 09-15-2009 11:02 PM

It's for SEMA, nobody said it was for performance. The V8 doesn't fit very easily in the front, and like you said, all the ricer's will hop on his nuts cause he went mid engine.

RWDTurbo149 09-15-2009 11:18 PM

sickkk!

yea the Tau V8 does not have enough room to fit the genesis coupe's engine bay. korean sources have said that there is not enough hood clearance. personally i dont know if i believe that, but you never know, in about 3 years for their refresh of the gencoupe they might throw this thing fully in the pony car mix up?! V8 powered genesis = win.

Structurally square tubing is stronger then round.

At first when looking at the pics I thought it was 2-tone but realized its just protective stuff put over the top portion of the paint while they work. I thought they hacked up the roof section where the white stuff is torn and thought that would be a pain to fix LOL.

Am I the only one who absolutely hates the genesis coupe? I think its hideous.

boostedfury 09-16-2009 10:40 AM

crazy what time and money can build

NOPSTNS 09-16-2009 11:21 AM

now im excited, that is awesome! i cant think of too many front engine cars that became mid engine so i cant argue about it actually making it perform better...but id love to drive it!

most cars built for sema are just "whoa thats cool" not "ok, now lets go to Le Mans"

I agree that it is a good looking car... I don't know who did the bodywork for this one but it looks great.

I find this comment humorous because I always thought the Genesis kinda looks like the G35 coupe.
