Its clearly a common issue, I dont know if honda has issued a recall yet, but your best move is to go to the dealer and tell them, if nothing, call honda corporate. Its under warranty, they should fix it, if not get a lawyer, its not like you have no evidence to stand on, if there isnt a recall, honda simply isnt taking care of their customers.

almost every k-series transmission has problems with the 3rd gear synchro. most of the time where it pops out of gear is when the shifter is not fully engaged into 3rd gear.

how to fix the problem...

shift slower, and try to feel it engage (should feel like it clicks twice)
if it wont go into gear, put it into neutral and double-clutch

thanks it just gonna be a pain

07 si...it popped out at like 3 or 4k...not even in vtec yet.

MTuning 07-08-2008 10:06 AM

there is a recall for the problem. one of the reason why i didn't get the si.

it definitely is, im a big honda fan and it grew on me since the first time i saw it. Plus i was looking for a sedan so that was perfect but knowing honda's past transmission records I didn't want to deal with it already out from factory. The recall has the techs replace a few parts inside the transmission so i would of had to put alot of trust in my dealer.

i have a 07 si coupe, changes tranny fluid to amsoil, its amazing how diff the tranny is. btw i never had any problmes with mine. i changed the fluid after about 3000 miles....

MTuning 07-08-2008 05:00 PM

well much like everything there are good eggs and the bad, however when they need to do a recall i would be weary. better transmission fluid could be a bandaid also, much like ppl saying synchromesh FM fixed their grinds.

TunedIS300 07-08-2008 09:05 PM

if i was to get a flush on my trans. fluid wat should i replace it with and where can i get it ?

DownforceTom 07-08-2008 09:09 PM

I read in SCC a few months back that people were talking about a class action lawsuit for just this problem. Apparently Honda hasn't been owning up to this trans issue.

TunedIS300 07-08-2008 11:20 PM

any fluids?

07NHBPCivicSi 07-09-2008 03:19 PM

i use, and have heard nothing but great feedback from using AMSOIL tranny fluid............

GiZmoRSX84 07-10-2008 04:52 PM
