Sway bar information

Hey guys, i have a 2004 wrx with basic mods and i want to get sway bars. I already have better wheels/tires so i heard this is the best handling mod for my car but i am clueless. What should i get? do i need a front as well as a rear or just the rear? what size, brand, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Do you have new springs???

the front swaybar on subarus is pretty beefy stock (for a stock swaybar). For street use 20mm, for competition use 22-24 is what I have been told from a few people (not saying you cant run a 22-24mm RSB on the street, you can easily). With a thicker rear sway your car will become more tail happy and will oversteer a bit more

My recomendation is an adjustable rear bar. I have the 3-way adjustable rear Perrin bar, and I'm able to make changes to it to stiffen or soften it to suit my driving style.

The result is a much more neutral handling car. Best chassis mod evAr.

I also have the newer model Perrin RSB, the only problem is that you may lose your endlink bolts. I have a few times. Loctite is your friend. Also you might want to invest in a set of Endlinks to accompany it.

+1 for the Perrin Rear Swaybar, then endlinks, then a Perrin Front Swaybar if you're still looking for more, but most aren't.
I've got a Perrin RSB and (edit: no endlinks left, just the swaybar) new in box for sale if you're interested... just shoot me a PM about it if you want.

I thought that stiffness mattered more than diameter? IE; I have a 25.4 mm bar but it's adjustable, so the lowest setting is 73% stiffer than stock. That's still less stiff than most "street" bars that are 22 mm.

I have some hotchiks fraont and rear sway bars the rear is adjustable 3 settings, sort of expensive around 300 for the pair, but no complaints from this guy, car turns and handles real nice.
