Poorformance's (NEPA) dinner meet...MONDAY's @ 8pm!

Figured I'd post this up for anyone in the local area who wants to get together with a few local people. The meet is being held by a few of us local TST guys at Red Robin in the bartonsville plaza on 611 at 8 pm. We've got about 5-6 tristatetuners local to the area coming out and just wanted to welcome anyone else who wants to enjoy some good food and meet some new people. We'll be eating outside on the porch area and parking on the porch side as well. If you have any questions shoot me a PM or make a post in here and I'll do what I can to help out.

Last week was fun, not a lot of people showed up due to the holiday but that also might have been due to me not putting stroudsburg in the title, lets see how this turns out this week.....

We now meet in the lowes parking lot on the Khol's side of the lot. After hanging out for a bit we head over to red robin and get some grub.

The TST meet is strictly a Red Robin meet at this point due to the crazyiness that is happening lately in the lowes lot. None of our TST members that come out are acting out and I really want to make sure it's understood that those people and our members are two seperate groups. If the lowes meet gets shutdown, the TSTers will continue to meet for dinner at red robin regardless of the status of that meet.

The general consensus is that the regular attendees are going to continue to meet up for dinner throughout the winter, weather permitting. Most of us won't be bringing out our cars but anyone who is looking to meet a few TSTers and eat some good food are welcome to come join us. We've now turned this meet into a "traveling" dinner meet. Every week we attend a different dinner spot anywhere in between Bartonsville and Bethlehem. I'm always open for suggestions on great food spots so please shoot me a message! Also, we have a "text" list for the location every week so if you're interested in joining please contact me and I'll try to make sure you know where we are going ahead of time. Thanks!

Woot! It was a good time this past monday. Not a lot of people go to red robins on monday so the whole porch was open as were the parking spaces next to the porch.

Joe just got his new wheels for his m5....I won't spoil the surprise and I havent seen them yet, but from what I'm told, they will be insane. Hope we get a good turn out this week!

Like I said before, we could always hit up dinner at RR then take a cruise over to DQ for a change of scenery.

Well, it was only about 4-5 of us at RR, so we thought we'd see if anyone actually showed up at DQ. While passing stroudsburg mall, 3-4 guys in the parking lot saw us go by, tried to catch up, couldent and decided to check to see if we were at DQ. So while taking photos at DQ, the 3-4 guys showed up and we had an okay sized meet.

No deal, it was a one night only event. The middle eastern prince who owned it was in town for a showing of "Terminator Salvation" and said he would be returning to his country promptly. Prince ali-baba was delightful company and will be missed.


Funny story, we were driving around in the GTR today and while sitting at a light in stroudsburg an 09 civic SI rolled passed us with the drivers head out the window (while still driving mind you) and their tongue to the floor. He gave a big thumbs up and that was that. About a block down the road we passed the same civic who looked like the purposely parked in the middle of nowhere just to watch the GTR go by, this car draws so much attention its hilarious.

I'd do this in a heartbeat if I didnt put ridiculous miles on my daily driver. My 08 accord was a leftover and now has 35k miles on it. Plus for the driving I do, I couldent have an unreliable car. If I wanted to take rental cars I could do this, but its a pain having to go pick them up constantly. Plus I make a lot of money just driving my own car, 60c a mile ftw.

The 2.0 that comes in the WRX is known to be a more reliable engine and with a tune and an exhaust you can keep up with an sti easily. With my setup you just upset the STIs because you're pulling away while they just keep shifting through those gears. (check for the 2.5 sucks thread posted by Area 1320 to see about the spin bearings.)

Um STI in stock format maybe and the Engine has been fixed it was only early production 09s. Ask me how i know oh yea i work for Subaru. The WRX modded yea is fast but the STI modded is FASTER!! WRX tranz are notorious for BRAKING when you over power some ppl have luck with them some dont STI tranz will hold alot of power compared to its WRX counterpart. As far as area 1320 goes have you heard of COBB, or AMS or Prodrive, All use STI now the 09 may have some earlyer issues but the 04-07 ROCK SOCKS and so does the 09.

You should have said something to me last night when I was sitting next to you lol. Is it a long commute to Cherry Hill to work for Subaru? I thought if you lived in Stroudsburg and worked on Subarus it meant you worked for Kathy and Jim Ertle. Also you really don't need to lecture me about WRX trannies mine was replaced with a ppg setup last March after blowing. I could have done the sti swap but to be blunt the gearing really sucks. As for the tuning companies they all use the STI because frankly who would use the non-aggressive looking model to base a race car on? Last night was a great time even after the lesser group pulled in. Also just because they are there doesn't mean we have to talk with them or acknowledge them. At DQ if a group like that shows up you are automatically a part of them because everyone is standing around outside. I'm going to stick with Red Robin for now and if it does go downhill I will stop going then.

Yeah I really didn't like DQ. I like the food at Red Robin, drinks, ample inside seating etc... Plus I have never had a good DQ experience always a bad group next to the good and no way to separate yourself out. I am completely open to suggestions for where the meet should be held in NEPA but it needs to be easy to find for new people interested in joining. DQ is great but its a hike for anyone not located in the north east most corner of the state. Heck, we could even have this meet in easton if we found a good place down there. I'd just like the meet to stay a little bit more SE in NEPA so that we open this up to other people that want to visit but dont want to drive 2 hours.

Dude, your DQ "crew" dosent even contribute to this thread, only ace has posted on here. So in terms of TST NEPA / Stroudsburg meets, they are just random people who show up but dont help plan anything. If you didnt post in here we wouldent even know they existed....What I'm trying to say is, we are trying to setup a meet that TST will enjoy, not non TST members. I'd like to keep it in stroudsburg and work out a spot that everyone enjoys but im going to pick a spot that is convenient to more then just 1 TST member. Just try to keep an open mind.

man I'd love to have a meet at PBC. But then it wouldn't include the younger members of TST and i'd much rather everyone have the option of joining us.

The parking at PBC would suck balls for a meet. We'd have to steal shiro parking. I think we should leave PBC to local friday nights instead of meets.

I honestly cant think of anywhere as easy to get to as RR that has a place to sit outside, parking, and isnt in the middle of nowhere.

get the facts str8 DQ is in east stroudsburg http://www.dairyqueen.com/us-en/store-details/7537/ marshalls creek is still a lot more to go my friend. they dont contribute because they are not on here they have a thing where they don't like this site very much. so i don't twist there arm about it. but i guess i am done with this fight its a losing cause you guys have fun at RR again we will be at DQ where we will have the whole parking lot to our selfs and getting ice cream. i really think this thread should just die since its not a stroudsburg meet. make a new thread that is for NEPA meet since stroudsburg is so dead

I'm really not into bringing my car into the middle of the burg, I've heard the stories. If I had my way we would be parked at PBC. Better beer and better nachos :)

For the record I had a BBQ chicken burger and it was very good.

its not the drive everyone was telling me how they hated being where we where. i don't care about the drive i just rather it not be raining. everyone was telling me they wanted a nice open area where we can chill talk look at the cars and so on. my thing was we all sat at the table everyone got menus and out of the what 8 people there 3 ordered something? they all felt like they needed to spend money and they didn't want to. i ordered those nachos and i hated them but thats my own personal thing. its summer time (well kind of) everyone wants ice cream we want to walk around and take pictures ask questions about the cars not sit in a spot where everyone felt uncomfy. i don't care where we pick or where we go all i am asking is an open area so if you guys like to do the dine in thing thats cool keep it that way. see the theme as to where i am going? Outside open lot, and ice cream ;) hell even that place down 611 whats it called gab's or something like that would be fine too. but until everyone can agree i will stick with DQ

funny i never seen you there you go on ricer day. which is every day but monday and friday which are the days i am there. but like i said you guys stay there we will stay at dq until something good comes out
