TST Gun Meet- First post updated

Since there are so many members on this site who are into guns, I was thinking that we could set up a meet where we can all go to the range (indoor or outdoor) and just shoot for an afternoon.

CRM076 talked to CP (classic pistol) and they would prefer we came before 5 because then there will be a better chance we can all be together...

EVERYONE WHO IS COMING READ THIS CAREFULLY

"i called cp... i asked the guy that answered the phone if they had group rates, he asked how big of a group, i said probably 10-15 people. He asked me if we were law enforcement and i said no. He paused for a good 30 seconds and asked what type of group we were (clearly he thought we were some sort of militia or something) i just told him "a group of friends who share a common interest". he said they may be able to work out a deal for us depending on how big of a group it is..."

I asked him about restrictions, here they are:

~if you bring full auto/SBR's BE SURE TO BRING YOUR PAPERWORK
~no belt fed guns
~no incendiary or armor piercing rounds
~no 50 BMG
~ nothing bigger than .30-06

From what I am seeing here, Thursdays work for everybody.

What do you guys thing?

What?

The only laws I know about in PA restrictions about concealed carry. You need a license to do that but just about anybody can open carry. Almost everybody can go to the shooting range though..

no worries. there are no special rules or regs about who can shoot. if you're physically capable of holding a gun and mentally capable of firing it responsibly (i.e. - no whackjobs allowed), chances are pretty good that I'll let you throw a few rounds downrange. not like anything I have is all that great, but it's fun nonetheless.

i would absolutely be down for this. the only problems i can think of might be with an indoor range and the number of people present. if we have a good sized group, maybe 10-15+ people, i would bet that renting the entire range would be necessary to make it worth anyone's time. if this actually happens, we will have tons of people there... lots more than 15. for example, i guarantee that at least 3 of my gun totin' friends would come along with me. i bet everyone who shows up will bring 1 or 2 people with them. see how it would get HUGE quickly? if it's at an outdoor range, we could have spectators with no problem, but at an indoor range we'd obviously have to limit the number of people on the line to those actually shooting. at an outdoor range, we would also have to deal with insane regulations. i'm definitely in for suggestions on a good place to have an event like this. i'd prefer outdoor, IF and only if we could find a place that doesn't run the range like a bunch of nazis. i'm all for being safe, but personally i have no interest in going to a SGL range or any other local range that has a limit on the number of rounds in my magazine or how fast i'm allowed pull the trigger.

lol ive never actually seen anyone open carry in public though.. and we also need to be careful if we are letting people try out our guns, two days ago my buddy and myself almost got our GLOCKs mixed up... would have been a very interesting conversation had it happened and i been pulled over.

Yeah, I see your point. Somehow I doubt I won't be able to recognize my own gun tho. It kinds of stands out... haha

I'll bring the Barrett if we go to a place with enough running room for it, my range let's me shoot it and would be perfect but I can only bring 3 guests with me and I highly doubt they will let me bring a pile of people for a range day

which blows

x 100000 outdoor ranges are teh gay. 3 round max, and when you show up with assault rifles and sniper rifles all the hillbillies who are zeroing in their hunting scopes do NOT look happy... plus handguns at all the public ranges ive been to are useless... 50 yards i think... PLUS nockamixon was shut down because of too much lead? so the only other real option is french creek (iirc is rifle only)
