04 RSX mod progression question

just looking for opinions:

I've got an intake (I know I know, its just an sri but its what I've got). I'm planning on a moderately modded car, nothing crazy but extra power is always nice.

My intentions are to eventually have the reflash, header, and exhaust. If I'm in a situation where I can afford it I'll upgrade to k-pro. I was planning on doing the Vibrant header (call me a nerd but I'd like to keep it relatively low emission) and a 2.5 exhaust to compliment. I would love for the reflash to be my next mod, but that will require me to be without my car for a few days, which I can't do until probably Jan-Feb.

So my question is this: Would it be worth it at all to get an exhaust now? Money-wise I can afford 1 mod now and then another in a few months, which as I mentioned I intend to be the reflash. I know that getting the header now would be silly, as I'd be dumping a 2.5 inch header into a 1.9 inch exhaust, so that's my rationale for thinking I should get the exhaust first. What I'm worried about is that if I put a 2.5 inch exhaust on running from the stock header, will the sound be awful? Will I have any gains at all? And finally, I've heard the vibrant cat-back is nice and deep, but pretty loud. Any input on 2.5 inch exhausts?

I've done plenty of reading on clubrsx, but you'll see every different opinion on there argued to the same extent. I thought I'd go local for my advice.

Either keep saving money and waiting to do it all or buy stuff periodically and install all at once.

I/H/E and Kpro and your be good. Them mods can get you in to high 13's if you can drive. But your best bet is to go to CLUBRSX.com and search.

Tune should be last after you buy all the mods, exhaust first dosent really matter if you plan on upping everything else before a reflash. Just make sure that when you pick an exhaust note you like to look for a sound clip of it with a race header since itll have a different tone

Sorry man that will not get you low 13's all day. If he's lucky low 14's. I troll club rsx more frequently then I do any other board. My buddies 02 type-s with a cai, exhaust, header, hondata 4, gutted, and he weights 130 lbs and can drive his ass off ran a 14.0. With slicks and I believe a type-r gear ration I believe he was slightly above 13.5.

thats a major fail. 3 in is way too big even for most turbo set ups. hondas must have back pressure and you wont have that with 3 inch pipe. i/h/e then do your tune. buy some drag radials and look for low 14's unless you want to be disappointed. high 13's if you lighten her up.

as for the TS like others have said I/H/E Kpro is the way to go for the all motor set up dont bother with the reflash unless you are absolute positive you cant afford it b.c you will deff love the kpro as apposed to the reflash even though you can uprgrade. check the parts for sale threads on clubrsx man you can get parts all day ha

thanks for all the advice everyone. Don't worry, I wasn't planning on going with 3 inch exhaust...hell 2.5 is pretty big for a lightly modded rsx.

The vibrant is out, I had someone PM me who had a Kiddracing race header lying around, should be going on soon. Would've liked to have done exhaust at the same time but this fell into my lap. So it'll be mated to a stock exhaust for the time being due to money. Hopefully exhaust will come in 2-3 months. To continue to follow all your advice, i'll see if i can budget kpro after that, but at the least i'll try for the reflash. Wouldn't be tuned for h/e but i would get the adjusted vtec switchover.

Read the big long thread on crsx about this header, seems to be pretty damn good! I just know that i'll need to rig some spring bolts for where the header goes into the test pipe, and i'll need to order a defouler (out of stock on back order at crsx store).

As far as running low 13s...hell that'd be nice but honestly that's FI territory. I get into the low 14s i'll be happy, somewhere on par with my old gtp. The rsx isn't really a drag car anyways.
