The evo is freaking pissing me off!!!

first this happens at a STOP SIGN:
http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=356943
(one of the pulleys just broke off)

so i finally get the BOLT that holds it (takes 4 days after ordering from a local dealer) I put it in with some effort (lowered motor a bit).

now i try to put the belt back on, and move the tensioner back- and that ****ing breaks!!!!

wtf is this ****?

But I am sure the exhaust is angled for back pressure to have a faster spool-up for larger size turbochargers @ low RPM

I can't see the pic but I know what you're talking about, that sucks.

I try to never work on my car when I'm frustrated cause it just leads to more frustration... and more broken parts... which leads to more frustration... its a nasty cycle.

you put a 1/2 breaker bar in there and turn counter clockwise to move the tension away from the belt.
the top of that square hole just broke off.
part costs $120

i had a similar problem with my suby
got a timing belt changed (which was a nightmare in itself.. since they broke my tranny too) day after getting the car back, i'm driving home... smell bruning rubber. I think to myself, must be the car in front of me. few minutes later, i her clunking... head home open the hood. my ac pulley siezed. When i finally get another one. and go to install it, I break the tensioner on it. Have to wait again for the new tensioner. finally all is good.
