QR25 Cams, JWT or Nismo?

so in a few weeks im planning on picking up cams for the motor with my irs rebate check, i figure while i have the extra money i might as well get them now. now my question is if anyone on here has any idea, what are the better cams to get, the Jim Wolfe Cams or the Nismo cams?
thanks for any suggestions

and the majority of owners are cheap asses that don't want to pay for anything... everyone wants a pnp standalone... but nobody wants to pay for the pricetag of one... Probably has to do with the demographics of owners... being young males in college/high school/military that don't have tons of money to throw around. You gotta pay to play... most spec v owners just wanna play... not pay.

yeah so then they suffer the consquences when a rod goes frying through the oil pan, i'd rather pay out money for quailty parts and not risk blowing something to smitherines,
cliffs: its better to spend the lump sum on something now, rather than that +more later on down the road

i just thought of my friend when i said that... when he got back from deployed he blew all the money on a supercharger... but now that he's back to his "normal" military stuff, he's broke and has no money whatsoever for anything further on the car really... kinda living deployment bonus to deployment bonus.

Thats the problem, there isn't alot of potential. Since the car can't rev higher its hard to make good cams that will make power throughout the rpms. Most import cams don't really start gaining hp until around 4500 or so and by that point the qr has less then 2000rpm left.

If I were you I would look into a spring and retainer kit and get the most aggressive street cam you could find. Jwt sells one, which would be a great investment because you would be able to extend your rev limit and get more revs if you ever go that route

Please don't think I am putting your car down, but I am just very disappointed in the motor. I LOVE the tranny(because it has a sick hlsd and it would work wonders with a sr20), but again it doesn't match the motor well. Short geared tranny with a low revving motor just doesn't work.

This all said I didn't see any cams on the bc website, which is a shame too because they would be alot cheaper then the jwt's and nismo's. You should then go with the jwt cam and retainer kit and this way you'll be prepared for the future

I wish you the best of luck and hope your happy when you install them. Just make sure you have a nice intake(hopefully 3inch), header, and a 2 1/2 inch exhaust before you install them, because if not the cams won't be able to breathe well and won't work nearly as good as it would with all that stuff. Oh and don't forget the balance shaft removal kit if you don't have it already.

btw I had one of these and was running consistent 14.6's w/ just I/H/E, so it is a decent street car with gobs of torque and it also handles really well espcially with a nice coilover kit.

Ehhh. WPR is developing a very bad reputation in the Nissan Community (Not just with Sentras). I thought Ferrea made a set of valves for the QR, they may be worth checking out.

Did you get the actuator installed without any problems?

I have to buy a extension rod, which I found, and a bracket. Atp supposedly has the bracket, but from what I was told you have to modify it alot for it to work properly and at 30 bucks for the bracket, thats alot to pay and then have to modify.

I am also having some mechanical timing issues. I am off by a link on the timing chain, but it should hopefully be fixed by the weekend, but we'll see.......

There's also a fuel pressure issue too. I think that may have to do with me not having enough gas in the tank....I hope.
