More top quality work from Bonehead!

I have been helping a friend(whether he wants my help or not) with his '34 Ford pick-up street rod project. This truck belonged to one of Philadelphia Modifiers original members, and was chopped/modded back in the early '40s with a Chrysler drum brake swap and an Olds 303 engine adapted to the original Ford trans. It was left basically abandoned in a collapsed garage in Philly since the mid-'40s. Time to bring it back to life, with as many of the original mods as possible.

I can't thank Chuck at Bonehead Performance enough for his patience, his unmatched quality in preparation and finished product, and insanely fast turnaround time. The parts from this truck are just oooozing with 50+ year old grease and grime, and Chuck has taken every measure to insure 100% quality.

The frame is painted in '40s Cadillac Ruby Red and the body will receive the same color, as it was back in it's day. The rest of the chassis parts have been coated.

I couldn't get any good pics, but more will come when he gets the motor sitting in the frame again.

Bonehead Performance- The ORIGINAL #1 Source for Powder Coating!

That would be cool, but this is a pre-Rocket engine. I believe the valve covers and intake will be polished.

**EDIT** After a little(like 2 minutes) research, I found that it is considered a 'Rocket' and also one of GM's first production V8 engines.

Also, Chuck just powder coated the front engine mount which is an original pre-Hurst product. It was made by Hurst specifically to mount the Olds engine in the Ford chassis. It was produced by Hurst in his own garage before he was actually in business. Sort of a rare part.

Yeah I believe the Rocket was 1950's but the look is good and goes well together. All the old heads will know the color scheme.

Bumpin' this one up. Thanks for another fantastic job, Chuck. Hopefully the intake will be bolted up next week and the Chassis will get finished. More pics to come.

Mike, I saw the lawn and garden sign in the background. I can't remember the guys name, but Jim Mitchell took me over to his place accross from Wawa a couple times. Is it the same guy?

Oh, and did you know Jim? He just died. I was sround and helping him restore his hot rod pickup until someone took it out on his first ride on the street.

Yeh, It's Butch's truck. He is my neighbor and he closed up the lawn/garden shop. I knew Mitchel, but not real well. We almost lost Dick Linton also...

I used to work at a shop in Wrightstown. The owner was a member of the Philadelphia Modifers. On occasion his hot rod buddies would bring their cars in for service. Whenever it was transmission related my boss would always call up Richard Linton and ask his advice on the problem. Is this the same guy? I hope he's okay, he was a really nice guy. I actually helped him put a new rear in a late 60's corvette a few years ago. That guy really knows his way around hot rods.

That's him. He is the master of transmissions and diffs.

So, you worked for Danny??

Anywho, we should be talking about Bonehead's quality work, since he is the best.

Speaking of which, Chucky, if you are reading this, what would the cost and turnaround be to powder coat 4 20" wheels off my SRT?

And yes Dick Linton is the man when it comes to transmissions and rears. He has done a few for me in the past and does great work. Hope he is doing ok.
