Reckless Driving tiket

Welp, the coppers got me for reckless driving for doing donuts in an empty parking lot somewhere out in the middle of nowhere. $400 ticket. Anybody else ever get a RD ticket before? I got my lawyer on the horn, we can get it dropped to 3 point careless driving or maybe down to the 3111a which would be sweet. What sucks is, this is maybe the 4th or 5th time i've done donuts, and i only got about 5 or 6 good ones in before the cops came.

I was reading up on forums and people actually plead guilty to this ticket? Do they realize its a 6 month suspension and its as bad as a DUI as far as insurance is concerned? Buncha BS if you ask me..

Good thing they saved that innocent parking lot from the perils of someone doing donuts! Too bad three more people probably got shot in Philly while they were doing that. Oh well, though, right?

That's lame as ****. I hope you get the ticket 100% cleared.

I agree the the penalty is too much for the offense, but it is still reckless.

I wouldn't recommend asking for a 3111a, you'll probably just piss the officer off.

I speak from experience.

well... it is pretty reckless... who knows what could happen if the car is under stress for too long. A rim could pop off and go flying down the street into traffic, etc.

Besides... who the hell does donuts anymore... were you out there by yourself doing them? showing off the incredible power of your car to turn in a circle... over and over? go join nascar, they're waiting for ya

I actually just got back from court today concerning a wreckless driving charge. My lawyer tried to get it knocked down to a 3111a, but he was only able to get it knocked down to a careless driving charge. I'm still really happy though, i'll take the three points, as long as I still have my driver's license.

If I were you, I would try to get to get it knocked down to a 3111a. I wouldn't worry about offending the officer, he/she has no power to do anything, just worry about the judge.

I personally think "Wreckless driving" is too broad of a term. In my case, I cut in front of somebody while driving down Roosevelt Blvd. who just happened to be a Philadelphia Police officer in a unmarked car. OOPS!! She got pissed, pulled me over and gave me a wreckless driving charge.

Actually, yeah the posi is shot...its been pretty shot for a while. I'm just going to throw an OEM posi back in there. We pulled the cover off and my mechanic friend said there is little to no clutch material left at all. lol. I was doing donuts, it would spin both, then in the middle of the donut, fire the inside tire, and spin the car around so fast. I can get the posi for 200 dollars from a wrecked car so it's not too bad.

I also blew my axle 2 weeks ago, we just fixed that and then went out and did donuts. lol.

It looks to me like its gonna get knocked to a careless, but i already have 6 points. the good thing is, 3 points come off dec 12th for me, and the trial is probably gonna be in january. so back up to 6 points again and probably a 15 day suspension.

thanks for the input here guys, just wanted to see if anyone else had any experience.
