Parking Ticket Question

I live in Roxborough/Manayunk which everyone knows is a pain in the butt to park late at night cause all the spots are taken. There happens to be a Loading Zone a couple houses down. It's a 30 min limit from 8am - 11pm. So after looking for a different spot with no luck I decide to park there around 10:40PM. I figured that since its a 30 min limit by the time the limit is up I'm past the posted times. When I get to the car the next morning I notice that I have a ticket...So I think WTF...I get the ticket and see that the issue time of the ticket is 11:10PM which is 10 min past the posted time. Has anyone had this happen before? Was I wrong to think that I could park there? And has anyone fought a parking ticket before? Is it worth my time/money($31 ticket)?

Nice try but no. You parked before 11:00 pm so the law was in affect when you parked had you waited till 11:01 you would have been fine

I'm just trying to get this straight. If I park there before the end posted time but my time limit runs out after the posted time, I am still ticketable at the end of the time limit? Seems counter-intuitive.

Your over thinking it, The law is in affect till 11:00 pm so if you park before 11:00 pm you are subject to the law in this case 30min parking.

Haha so if I would've gone to my car at 11:10pm, pulled out and backed up into the spot again I would've been in the clear?

NO but if you left the spot drove around the block and returned after 11:00 pm then you whould have been ok.. The purpose for the law is to give everyone the chance to park there if you returned and it was open then you gave someone the chance but nobody needed now you do so its all good. Semantics I know but thats how it works!
