Audi S4 vs. Maserati Biturbo

I really really want a Maserati Biturbo, and I really can't get over how similar these two engines look.

Did the S4 evolve from the Biturbo?

Picture above is from a 1987 Biturbo....supposedly their very quick and nimble around turns. I really wanna test drive one if its local. They're usually around 5-8k in good shape with under 100k miles. Check this one out!

Just a fyi. The 80's biturbo is notoriously unreliable and parts are very expensive. I love maseratis(the old ones of course), but from what I've heard(never knew anyone with one), it's best to stay away from a biturbo. I have a mag from aug. '95 sitting next to me with a biturbo review and here are some parts prices: full engine-13,000 pounds, gkn diff- 750 pounds, bonnet- 540 pounds, dash clock- 465 pounds. Remember, thats 12 yrs ago and in pounds, multiply 1.5 for u.s equivalent. Also, while they are quick(relative of course), most find their handling to be too soft. They are understatable beautiful though, with an incredible interior. I have to say that the leather they use does'nt seem to wear well though. It roughens and becomes brittle like 80's bmw leather. I'm only going by the one biturbo that I sat in once though.
Regardless, I'd seriously reconsider getting a biturbo unless you have a good deal of expendable loot. Btw, proper pronunciation for biturbo is bee-turbo, not bye-turbo, even if the latter may allude to a more accurate portrayal of it's reliability.

there was a red one up near me like the blue one in the pic. I was gonna buy it too because it was like $800 and then I read up and it would cost 3 times that to get it running.
