RIP Keith and Todd

A friend of mine and one of his friends died Monday afternoon after Keith crashed his CRX into the rear of a tractor trailer doing over 100mph on route 100.

It's been a sad week, Keith was easily one of the coolest kids I've ever met, it's such a shame to lose them with something so stupid.

Really makes me think, I normally tune on that road at night because it's open and straight. I just got my car done and I don't even want to drive it right now, it scares me too much.

I am pretty sure I've seen these guys a couple of times on my way to work in Boyertown. I've heard that they left 300+ft of skid marks and were traveling in excess of 120-140mph. I think they estimated the impact at around 100mph. Do you have any more info on what they were doing? That is pretty damn fast for anywhere on Rt100. It is a shame and hopefully people will learn from this.

They lived in Hereford and were in Boyertown alot, so yeah you've probably seen them. He was at Maple Grove racing last weekend too.

From what I heard, Todd was with his GF when they broke down on route 100 near Balley. He called Keith to pick him up, and they were headed down to Todds house to get tools so they could fix the car. Why they were going that fast on that road in the middle of the day is beyond me, I knew Keith drove fast but I didn't know he drove that fast.

The impact was enough to completely sheer the rear wheels from the trailor, a friend told me that the engine was sitting in Keith's Sparco seats. :/

That's about all I know though.

I did some serious research online.

Looks like he was between morning and afternoon football practices and just finished lunch when he got the call.
It was about a 1/2 mile from the intersection of 29 and 100 in Hereford. A no passing, no median highly traveled road @ 1:30pm.
The tractor trailer turned left crossing the road in front of him to a tiny little road named "Nanny goat hill".

I can't for the life of me figure out WHY he would be driving the freakin' fast or why a tractor trailer would be turning left onto such a tiny ass road.

If what happened to them keeps one person from doing the same thing then they won't have passed away for nothing. Make sure you tell everyone about your friend, how much he is missed, and what happened to him. My thoughts and prayers to you, and their families.

I saw pictures of the Crx tonight. It is literally half of a sardine can crumpled up right now. It is just really scary to think about going 130 in a Crx. Makes me want to slow down alot and not speed at all.

Rest in Peace!

Although speeding was involved, where that truck was turning, was that a normal place to be making turns and do trucks usually travel that road? Everythough its too late...it may be something to look into. Someone else could be hurt who is not going as fast...
