Having abit of a problem...
After removing all of the lug nuts, yes I check all of them, the tire will not budge. I hit it with a rubber mallot, I put a piece of wood behind the tire and wacked that. The thing will not move. Can anyone suggest how to remove this rim from the car? I don't want to deal with this on the side of a road incase I get a flat. Any suggestions?

When all else fails..... Get a bigger hammer.
I had that issue so bad with my M3 that I put the lugs back on and them backed them off a couple turns. Then I drove around the block until I heard it come loose. Pulled over, tightened the lugs and went home. After that it came right off. That should be a last resort though

Also when you put your wheels back on put some grease or something between the wheel and hub. Even a sheet of paper trimmed to fit the contact areas will make the wheels pop right off the next time you need to

Lugs nuts are all off, all 5 of them. I have rear disk brakes and they spin freely. I put the lugs back on before I got too frustrated. I was contemplating the sledge but I don't want to buy a new rim.
I will take your suggestion though about the grease. I'll throw some never seize on before I put my rims back on. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your guys help so far.

As long as you have wood between the wheel and your sledge I say go for it

Just hit it hard on the INSIDE lip of the wheel.
I have a large plastic dead blow hammer which knocks them off EVERY time!

HA I went down to my favorite store, Harbor Freight and bought me the right tool. Hit that SOB once and it came right off. It turns out the hub centric ring started to rust to the rim. Twenty minutes cleaning it up, some lube and it should be fine till I need to take it off again.
Thanks for all your suggestions...

I had the same thing happen to me with the passenger rear of a brand new explorer. Came back with a 20lb sledge, end of story.
