American Le Mans, Lime Rock, 7/1/2006…

Myself, Lester (VIA IIO) and his friend Evan, trekked to Lime Rock to witness some Le Mans action. We got there around 10:00am Saturday morning and left around 5:00pm. This was my first time seeing the race live and we all had a great time. We got about 300 shots plus a few video clips, but here are some highlights. The majority of these pictures were taken by “VIA IIO.”

On the road to Lime Rock, this GT3 wanted a piece of 9 Ball. Lester snapped a quick pic from the back seat.

Probably my most favorite pic by VIA IIO. Porsches are simply badass.

The Ferraris… like Women and Champagne.

The Pirelli girls, and some lucky kid.

Some of the action was in the parking lot. I’ve never seen soo many GT3s and Turbos in one place.

RS4… one of the pace cars.

The Pirelli girls making the rounds again.

Towards the end of the day, one of the Ferraris and Mazdas wound up kissing dirt.

Some dude, in some Evo;)

And we've got more pics, however, I'm still editing some of them.

Awesome, thanks for sharing these. It looks like you guys had plenty to look at, haha. I love the little intake trumpets on the Porsche. Plus those girls are moderately attractive...

Yeah, I did a search and noticed no one posted pics so I figure we’d throw ours up there. It took us awhile to sort through them all (I’m still sorting) because there are over 300 between the two of us. But Lester had some of the best shots of the day… really nice. Now that I know how to get there, and where the best places on the track to take pictures, I’m pretty sure I’ll be back. We should’ve made a weekend out if it like you did. We’ll probably find a hotel or camp out next time. But yeah, post’em if you got’em.

A big thanks to my "mission specialist," Lester (left.) And a really big shout out to Evan (right - Ducati Tshirt) who flew up from Florida for this event. This one's for you hommie.

Yeah, I went the inaugural year (2004) and those pictures brought back a lot of memories. You need to go early if you want a good infield camping spot, but even if you don't it's still a great place to watch a race.

Did you drive up Rte. 7? There is ~10 mile stretch up near the track that is a really fun road to drive on. It winds back and forth with a cliff on one side and a stream on the other.

That's where the first pic of the GT3 is (RT 7.) The GT3 and I only punched once because 2 deer jumped out in front of a Van ahead of us. We kept it mellow after that.
