collingdale performance ****ed my boys car up

WOw these assholes have no idea whats goin on. My boy went there today to dyno his car. Upon arrival the owner Paul Tzitzikas strapped my buddys car down, now usually you would do a mild/semi pull so the straps can settle, and adjust. Well this guys tells my buddy to just keep on dynoing. Long story short his car jumps 2 feet in the air and 3 feet side to side. This takes a chunk out of the rim, ****s both tires up, bends both rear lower control arms, bends rear subframe, and the front tow hooks are bent on a 45 degree angle. Now the car wanders when it drives because the rear wheels are toe out. basically pointing back a few degrees. This car will need extensive work to pass inspection.

So my buddy leaves because the owner is flippin out blaiming everything on my boy. So my boy goes and calls acura for prices on the parts and gives them to the owner to reimburse him, and the owner threatens my friend. he tells him that if he is taken to court he will say his dyno is now broken because of my friends car almost falling off. He also said he would make sure something was broken so that my buddy would be countersued for much more money. What a true POS.

Here is the website:

edit: confused nicks... not that you can blame me when someone talks about a horrible dyno experience.

someone should go get dynod and then nick should sue. and then he will have proof that the dyno was still in operating condition after the car was all fed up on it.

Didn't he sign a release form though? I though all dyno's had you sign one saying that it is not their fault, and you realize how dangerous it can be.

No release/ waiver forms were presented for dynoing, and yes they let him dyno his car. Common at dynoes.

You must go to some crazy dyno's...We wouldn't even consider letting a customer dyno their own car.

I've seen this at a couple of places.

Just to take a step back, it is most likely your buddy's fault that this happened. You CANNOT touch the steering wheel while dynoing, (it is hard not to sub consciously do it) or the car risks what you describe.

Extrememly loose straps could cause this, but I highly doubt this is the first car they dynoed, while it definately sounds like this IS the first time your buddy has.

I don't mean any harm in this and obviously just going from your story, I'm just stating what is usually the case. Loose straps didn't help the matter, but they weren't the cause of it either. No matter how tight the straps are, they won't keep an AWD car on the rollers if you start jerking the wheel during runs.

The car wasn't AWD, it was FWD.

Well I am by no means a student of law but I'm gonna say its prob gonna end up bein put on the shop cause if no waivers were signed and well most shop insurance policies don't even allow customers in the shop area the owner of this shop obviously screwed up and is now trying to just intimidate your friend

I dynoed my car there, and i had no problems with paul. But i feel it is still his fault. he straps down the cars, weather the guy moved the stearing wheel during the dyno or not, it shouldn't have jumped the rollers if it was straped properly.

Well this is not the first time my friend has dynoed, and after your first mild pull the straps should be checked and this was not done. ITs there fault. When the owner said he would lie, to countersue, says guilty to me. **** EM.

I was just talking to Nick about this on Thursday. Totally sucks! I figured those guys were a bunch of idiots after I watched one of the dyno vids they have on their site of them running an old mustang on the dyno with improperly inflated slicks and ended up destroying the tires and probably damaging the wheels. After all that they had the balls to sit there and laugh and even post it in the vid section I wouldn't spend a single dollar with people like that......and them threatening Nick with saying that he broke their dyno if he brings the law into it is just completely ridiculous!
