Scan tool says no comm evry time I hook it up.

I have a 98 240sx When I ran it for emissions,no comm.When I hooked up the scan tool at work no comm.and my data logger says no comm.WTF!!!all fuses are good and there is power at the port?..any one runn into this problem before?

I remember reading something in another thread that said for PA drivers, if after 3 attempts to scan your car it still can't find it then they can't fail you for it. It went something like that, I think. I'll see if I can dig it up for you......

make sure you have positive and ground at the right terminals and check all the other pins out, you should be able to get that information from alldata, or mitchell

As someone mentioned earlier, it seems like one of the wires may have a bad connection. It might be hard to trace the wires, but you could always use a multi-meter to test it at each end, or just run a new length of wire to the ECU.
