I have a bunch of friends with E46s none of them on here.... The only real issue i hear about is the fuel pump, but alot of them have over 75k so as long as it has service records your in good shape IMHO

Every BMW I have had has cost me more money then I can count...
But I regret selling every one of them and would never again go without a BMW in the garage

I had a 2001 E46 M3 and it was by far my favorite car. I regret selling it everyday and plan on buying another one ASAP. They are very reliable cars when cared for. I will post some links to the main E46 M3 forums for you to check out. One of the main issues with E46 cars over 75k is that they need their cooling systems revamped.

Just like any other car..if its taken care of it shouldn't be a problem. I got a BMW e46 to get out of the modifying game. Now I go for looks not even a little intake is in the car. Only Problem is you can't go cheap on the parts of coarse most likely you don't. I wish I had an m3 =/

After owning an 03.5 ... I'd say... make sure you have extra cash for the maintenance it will need.
Also make sure you have THOROUGHLY checked the car out. Personally I'll never own a BMW out of warranty again.

just picked up an e36 m3. Wish i would have gotten a PPI done, but other than that nothing major needs fixing.
Get a PPI done and know what your getting into. From what i can see, well cared for BMWs can last hundreds of thousands of miles just by performing simple maintenance by the book. Also make sure its had the bearing done under warranty. |
