Toe-Out and Front End Vibration
I am really having a hard time diagnosing what's causing this on my car, and this is the last thing I can think of?? Thanks in advance!! --Adam ![]()

A bad alignment by itself will NEVER cause a vibration.
On the other hand a bad alignment can make tires wear funny which can then cause a vibration. Swap the front and rear tires to help isolate where it is coming from and then consider getting the tires re-balanced. I use to be able to spin the weights off my wheels every so often. Are you using stock wheels? If not, do you have the hubcentric rings in place? Possible the wheels are bent as well.

I have had 3 sets of wheels on the car, stock wheels included, it does it with them all. 1 of the sets were the ones from the Saturn which I know are balanced, and it does it. Another set were my Kosei's which I had re-balanced at first because that's what I thought it was. It's not wheel balance. Wish it were that easy.

The weirdest thing I've ever seen is bad half shafts causing a vibration. This happened on my DSM. Swapped out the half shafts and vibration went away. The halfshafts had good boots but I have a kaaz front diff that tends to tear up the cv joints every so often.

Yea that is something I was thinking about. The one CV shaft was replaced last year. So maybe the other one is going. Is there anyway to tell if it's bad or not?
Also in the process of looking for loose things in the front suspension, wheel bearings, bushings, that kinda stuff, the left upper control was all we could find bad. The ball joint was worn out, and the bushings were bad. With that replaced it still is doing it the same. --Adam

My bad halfshaft looked normal otherwise and I don't think it made noises, either. At least in my case it was easy to tell which side it was coming from... considering it was pretty bad. And I think it only did it while accelerating too meaning the car was smooth while it was coasting. Although I could be making that last part up since it was many years ago and my memory is flaky.

Well I had the car for about 3 months now I guess. This was really the first time I had the time to get under and take a peak at stuff. Boy am I glad I did or I woulda eventually gotten myself killed. This car was falling apart, so bad. I never seen anything like it.
Every bolt and nut that had to do with the rear suspension was loose. The other upper control arm, on the other side that I didn't replace was not even close to being tight at all. The rear was the scariest, I cannot believe it actually. But right now, everything is grand. The 3 day marathon is over. --Adam ![]()
