205/40 is slightly "stretch" depending on the tire, some will almost be square. A 215/40 will be more square, or step up to a 225 and be full square. If you go wider, just make sure you drop down in sidewall size to offset.
I have 215/40 but they're on 8" wide so they have decent stretch. |

I have 225's and they fit perfect, when I bought them they had 205's and they were narrow with a stupid stretch, it looked stupid and killed functionality

Watch for deals on Craigslist... fish through the crap and you can pick up $800 in tires for $150 that have 90% tread. Granted mine are 245/45/18
