2009-10 Civic Si Sedan?
2007+ (less then 5 years old) 50K mile or less About 16-18K with warranty ($325ish/month) Manual 4 Doors Sporty ( I considered a New chevy cruze but I think it would get boring fairly fast) Something that gets close to high 20s combined mpg. I'm getting about 27-28currently. Thanks guys

I have had my 2007 Spec V since I bought it brand new in 2008. I currently have 45k miles on it and it's been a decent car so far. You can probably pick one up relatively cheap since they do depreciate relatively quickly. The aftermarket is kind of small on them so keep that in mind. When I was n/a I averaged 37-38mpg cruise control @ 65. Around town was mid to high 20's. Stock I was able to run a 14.8 @ 94 mph.
The car sits really high from the factory, but you can cure that easily with some lowering springs, or coilovers if you choose. You know what the car looks like stock, but here's mine after 5 years.

08+ Cobalt SS is a decent fit for what your looking for. 3 bar MAP sensor and a tune and they are over 300HP. The GM stage 1 will put it at 290 and won't void your warranty also. They come in 2 and 4 door options as well.
I would take an Altima over a Sentra anyway. Julie had the 4 banger Altima and it felt decent. |

sentra would be more focused like the SI than any altima outside an SE-R. but I'd go for the Cobalt T/C as well.

Yeah my GF actually has a 2007 Altima Automatic and I do like driving it. I would defiantly have to try a 6-speed one but I don't believe it will handle as good as the other 3 cars and it's also bigger then I would like. I defiantly will drive the Sentra Spec V and Cobalt SS before making any decisions.

Yeah that's the only thing keeping me for the Cobalt. My brothers GF has a regular 2008 Cobalt and I honestly feel like the interior looks cheaper then my 94 Integra.. well not that bad.. I do understand the SS is going to be a little nicer and also love them from the performance view. I defiantly value your opinion on the matter because every thread you've posted in you seem to be very helpful and not just bull**** without knowing what your talking about. I just don't know how important that extra performance is for me. I basically drive the BLVD from one end to the other right now so a car thats going to be nice driving in the city is important. I'm not sure how smooth a Cobalt or Spec V transmission are but I know the Si felt perfect.

The Civic has a much better transmission feel than the Spec V does stock (I almost bought a Si), but I couldn't justify the same level of performance for an almost 5k differential. In 2007 I couldn't get an Si for under 22K without Nav. I paid a hair over 18K for mine brand new fully loaded (LSD/RF AUDIO/SUNROOF) with 17 miles on it. A $3,700 turbo kit makes a hair over 300whp @ 8 psi. If you have plans to modify the car you're more than welcome to come for a spin in my car. I'm about 15 minutes from either the WW or BF bridges. |

Godofelru - Thank you very much for the offer. I might take you up on it anyway just because I'd love to check out a Spec V without the pressure of a Car Salesman and talk to someone who really knows the car well. I also know exactly what you mean on the price difference. I can find a similiar year and mileage Spec V for 2-3K less then an Si I just don't know what I'd be more happy with.

why not try an srt? my buddy has a relatively bolt on build with stock turbo and made over 370wtq with no meth or race gas. car is reliable as well, stock suspension is garbage tho, but thats nothing a set of coilovers cant fix.
as much as people bash them ive never had a problem with my car that a dumb wasn't self inflicted mistake. even with that said it was never anything big.
