b18 eg swap

Swapping a b18 into a eg civic is something I've yet to do. Just wondering what can I pick up to do this cheap... heard acouple things. Just wondering if there true.

considering its your first time it might be easier to get the whole engine harness mounting etc from the junkyard instead of pc by pc.

doing it cheap will lead to headaches down the road, take it from someone whose been there and done it.


Do it right the first time so you wont have any headaches. Get the whole harness, proper ECU and, Axles, shift linkage, header, and motor / transmission mounts, and you will be set to go. I really cant think of anything else around that because those are all things that cant really be avoided.

As for the harness, unless your some kind of electrical engineer, i suggest getting the proper harness, rather than trying to rewire the one thats on the car. Depending on whats in your car now, you may be able to get away with the harness thats on there if its got a 4-wire 02 sensor, otherwise dont waste your time trying to hack things up and wire it yourself, just get the proper harness, have a beer and call it a day.
