S2000 which should I purchase AP1 or AP2?!

I'll be buying the car outright. Just need your personal and professional opinions on the matter.

1. What's better between the two?

2. What should I watch out for when purchasing a used convertible?

Things like that.

Ive been looking for several months as well. very frustrating at times. finally found a great deal through s2ki.

Picking it up this Wednesday from a private seller. 2007 sliverstone with red/black interior, 37K miles, honda care powertrain warranty till 2014 or 100k.

Not a big fan of em, maybe if they were cheaper id like them, and not 2 seater. Ive seen a guy trying to get rid of one for 10.5 which is not bad i guess? im not sure. OP you should post pics when you get it though.

When you step in the car you have to inspect whether your dick is still there or not for driving a convertible.

So look for a cheaper 4 seater.
It's a roadster, it not being a two seater kind of defeats it's purpose.

That's like saying,
"I'm not a fan of the Sti, maybe if it were cheaper and if it were RWD."

Once I get it a hardtop will be installed(Not liking all the break in's via the soft top). Either Mugen or Factory Honda.

This one just popped up on s2ki.com

http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=801024 .

My MAX I can afford is $22,000 Cash so I'll try to see if he can lower it.

The Mugen hardtop adds an amazing look to the car!

That's just flat out mean.
Yuck!

Might be true if you were looking for a car that was god awful ugly, horrible body lines and has 0 character.

Why would I buy something that doesn't respond well to modification?!

its called sarcasm

but if you do plan on modding the car, you might as well go with the oldest model you can get in the shape you want. i figured when i bought mine 3 years ago... i could have afforded an ap2, but i wanted to use the money i saved to mod it, and that extra $4k made the car more what i wanted for the same price

there are quite a few difference between the ap1 and ap2. the ap2 is more 'refined', has cf syncro's (sp?), glass soft top window, bigger staggered wheels, revised suspension, the heads were reinforced in case of mis-shifts at high rpm's, etc.

when i get a chance i'm going to find the video best motoring made comparing the ap1 and the ap2. even putting on the ap2 staggered wheel setup on the ap1 to see if it helps it out but the revised suspension in the ap2 is what made the difference
