17x7.5 wheels

Anyone have 17x7.5? If so what size tires are you running. I'm not sure what size I should go with. Pictures are helpful. Thanks.

205/40 is slightly "stretch" depending on the tire, some will almost be square. A 215/40 will be more square, or step up to a 225 and be full square. If you go wider, just make sure you drop down in sidewall size to offset.

I have 215/40 but they're on 8" wide so they have decent stretch.

225 is the perfect width for a 7.5" wide wheel... but since this is TST I'm gonna say go with a 165.

I have 225's and they fit perfect, when I bought them they had 205's and they were narrow with a stupid stretch, it looked stupid and killed functionality

TST = 1/2 say 205, other 1/2 say 235

no size in a 40 series is going to match your 255/40 unless you do the same 255/40 however imo thats a little big for the front.

a 215/40 is over an inch smaller than the 255/40. if your running a staggered setup, you might want to look into running a different series for the front if your dead set on the 40 series for the rear

Do you suggest 225/35-17 then. Would that look and drive better than 215/40-17?

Your missing it... you need to go LARGER sidewall to match, not smaller.

You'd need a 225/45/17 to have the same sidewall / side view as your 255/40/17.

Width/Sidewall Ratio/Rim diameter.

Watch for deals on Craigslist... fish through the crap and you can pick up $800 in tires for $150 that have 90% tread. Granted mine are 245/45/18
