2001 Spyder GT, V6/automatic

Has about 74k on the clock, mom was driving in the neighborhood at about 30 when it felt like the car slipped in neutral. She coasted and shut it off, put in park, started it up, seemed fine. Put it in reverse, no reverse. Put it in drive, no drive. Motor revs like its in neutral.

Any idea what coulda gone wrong? We're the second owner and she drives it like an old lady...bad trans already?

Thats what it sounds like did you check the obvious things like is it connected. Seriously tho it sounds like a blown trans did you check the fluid.

yea, fluid is fine, transmission cooling lines are all hooked up.

really strange how this just happened out of the blue. anyone gotta shop who is knowledgeable about transmissions?

I know nothing about auto transmissions but it sounds to me like the cable or something came undone.

my tranny went in my 3g eclipse at about 40k miles. it was replaced under warranty, good thing bc I wouldnt want to have to pay for a new tranny.

I blew out a tranny on a 93 volvo 850 once, man that thing cost a fortune to fix from dealer. Hope is nothing too major
