Check Engine Light

After I replace my front O2 Sensor, will the CEL go away on its own, or go away after it re-checks the system, or will it just stay on until I reset my ECU?

I really would hate to have to reset the ECU and go through the hassle of getting my radio code

Thanks

If you have to reset. Use a jump pack to connect to the radio to untill you are ready to hook the battery back up. as long as memory is connected to 12 volts and the deck is grounded it shouldn't reset. With the ignition ON and power to the head unit you will need to disconnect the yellow wire and hook it up to 12 volts. My old eclipse head unit had to be unlocked with a certain cd and I lost it. So I used a jumppack while I was working on the car and it didn't lock itself out.

Or you can unhook the connection from the ECU and not have to dump your radio.

PM me if you want help on that.

Take a code scanner and erase the code, if you drive it for a bit and the check engine light comes back on you'll know it wasn't fixed.
