Putting s2k back together, please help

Okay, so I started piecing the S2000 back together again with some help of course. Everything is back together now except the car doesn't start. It turns over and you can hear it when you press the start button but all you get is the starter in action and the car doesn't actually start. Does anyone know whats going on?? Thanks.

this just happened to me, it was a problem with my flywheel. maybe (im assuming it was a accident) the motor and trans took a rough bang, or shake, and the flywheel might be damaged, its a fair stretch but a possibility.

Anytime a motor doesn't fire up the first things you look for are spark and fuel.

If you hear the actual motor itself being turned over it should have anything to do with the flywheel. Did you bleed the fuel rail? It can take a long time for the gas to go through the lines and get to the injectors.

It should take about 2 seconds to fill an otherwise empty fuel line.

^^^ im with this guy

Try to pop start it, if it pop starts, then it has something to do with the flywheel. if not, then look at spark/ignition.

Whenever I have replaced fuel injectors or fuel pumps it has taken at least a minute or two of solid cranking. I have done a fuel pump on a escort, injectors on a dodge van, injectors on my M3, and a fuel rail on a minivan. What work did you do to you s2000?

There was no damage to the flywheel and it wasn't touched, I replaced the head.

Check all the fuel stuff.

Do you hear the pump pumping? Is the rail getting pressure? Are the injectors clean?

Fuel rail is fine, didn't touch the injectors.

I think the cam timing might be off

I say ignition or fuel. Check all of your connections and check to see if you blew any fuses. Check for spark. Is the S2k a direct ignition or plugs?

Edit: What did you actually install? That might make it easier for some people to help you figure out what is wrong.

Sorry about that I just read that you changed the head.

I don't know dude. The only thing that comes to mind is spark. I don't know S2k's that well. Check the compression maybe?

The S2000 F series is a GREAT motor...can't see much room for inprovement unless your building somehting SICK!!

Any luck on this yet?

What have//haven't you checked and what sounds are you hearing when you put it in standby?

When you try to crank?

I did a head swap because I mechanically over-revved it and broke 8 retainers and bent 4 valves
