dana is trying to pull viewers away with this fight night he's putting together on the same night. tried to put wanderlei up against vera but it's too soon for wandy so now he's got anderson silva lined up. from what i'm hearing this fight night should be awesome too I might just have to pull out a second tv into the living room to watch both at the same time

Fedor/Sylvia should be good. As should rothwell/orlovski and the whitehead and white fights. Lindland is the man too. yeah, all those fights should be good. tough, experienced guys with knockout power. Tho I would rather see Fedor Vs. Rothwell and Arlovski v. Sylvia... seems like better matchups to me.

yup, UFC seemed to throw together a last minute card on the 19th.. ON SPIKETV! (Dana is pretty smart... Spider Silva is stepping up to Light-heavyweight (a stacked class in UFC)...but his opponent James Irvin is pretty weak imo. should be no contest. Theres a few other decent fights on the card, nothing compared to the OP's post fight. But still, would you rather PAY to watch all those fights, or get to watch fights for free on Spike...... theres a reason Dana White is considered a marketing genius.

I plan on ordering this.... and just DVR the fights on spike for Sunday. That way, I get everything I want.


And yes, Dana White is brilliant with what he is doing. And its not like he just picked a few random names out of a hat, he KNOWS that having Anderson Silva fight will draw people to watch. That, and they are having free fights once a month on Spike now anyway.

pretty sure couture put it all together and hopefully later this year he'll be fighting fedor after his contract is up with the ufc. arlovski's contract ended with the ufc and babalu was kicked out after he didn't let that anaconda choke go in his last match. others on the card have been out of the ufc for awhile

I have to believe Couture was dead after his last fights...thats the only logical reason i could think of why he is stalling so much. I think he's too old and his training and recovery times are huge compared to younger fighters.

Never seen Babalu fight (i'm sure I've seen some online, but u know....) but I LOVED IFL Battleground the 1st season it was on MyNetworkTV, and Mike Whitehead is on tough SOB.

Trying to get my buddy w/ cable to order the PPV fight so we can watch one show upstairs on ppv and the UFC fights on spike in teh basement.

i just rented UFC 86 last week, so im not buying this one. I'll watch fightnight for free.

The thing about Affliction is, you can probably watch the bouts on youtube the next day. UFC (Zuffa LLC) has most of their PPV vids removed immediately from youtube so you dont get to see them for a while. I'd be willing to bet the Affliction clips will be on quickly.

and since there is a lot of MMA talk going on the forum today....I'm frequent on both MMAJunkie.com and Cagepotato.com, good sources for steady updates, especially if you follow Non-UFC tournaments.

Yea I wish I had HDNET too. I know of a local bar thats playing it in Port Richmond, but due to time difference it's in the middle of the night, so it'll be an after-hours type thing from what Eddie told me.... and us adults have to work and shyt. lol

i wish I could train still. lol I'm a family man and work full time. Don't have time for the dedication. I used to box at kensington ramblers. I went to HS with Eddie. i graduated a year ahead of him, but we have a lot of mutual friends. And since I'm and MMA fan I have been to 2 of his local fights in the past year (AC and Trenton). We're not best buds but I know him, and my good friend Jimmy is a close friend of Eddies. lol I keep tabs on him though myspace since he travels a lot. He told me that FASONES in Port Richmond would be playing the fight, as you said, like 3-4 in the morning. lol

you train at daddis, nice. I would love to get fully involved, but I have a busy life as it is and can't commit, and i don;t like to do things halfass. When I boxed I trained 5 times a week while going to college and working.

I don't know anyone at Daddis, but I do have another friend that fights at ROCCOMMA in the northeast.

and yea i was talking about SHOXC in AC where Eddie defeated Ross Ebanez and Bodogfight in Trenton, Nj when he beat Matt lee.

yeah that's understandable you get older you got more priorities. the two guys that were on that card are doing well on the elitexc undercards. wilson reis will be fighting at the next elitexc fight on the 26th, i think his fight is going to be one of the two they're goin to show on showtime before the main event on cbs, his ground game is really nasty and def somebody to look out for.
