Better than dealing with cash?

I don't know how many of you have heard of "SquareUp" but its a pretty nifty device/software. It basically brings Paypal to you. You sign up for it and they send you a small device to plug into your smart phone. You can then link up to your bank account and begin to swipe cards with the device. There is a 2.75% charge but the rest is deposited into your account. You can add taxes and fees right on your smartphone, send receipts, etc. The app is free, the device is free, and there is no monthly service charge (plus a 0.25% fee reduction from Paypal). This could be used for business or personal reasons, I'll be able to sell things off craigslist using credit cards, sell car parts, yard sales, etc. My brother got his a few days ago and was showing me it so I just ordered mine today. I figured I would let you all know about it if you haven't heard of it yet.

Sounds like a cool idea. Would be nice not to have to carry a wad of cash to meet some stranger to buy something.

I think the Salvation Army is using something similiar to that instead of having people just ring the bell hoping for cash at Christmas time.

For all of those people that are dumb enough to put cash advances on their credit cards, they can buy this thing and just swipe their card then transfer the funds to their PayPal and then to their bank account lol

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

Some stores in the mall have been using things like this off and on. The idea is if they can use these things they can check people out alot faster during busy holiday times.
