Callin all hondata Gurus!!
PROBLEM. I took pics of the timing line on the distributer and marked it and everything i could do except sticking a timing gun on the motor. Well it used to rev to 9k fine, But now it will got to like 8500k and it cuts timing (or fuel) and boggs out for 4-5 secs. I tried advancing and retardeing the timing about 30 times. Im assuming something in the s300 is causing this to happen. Like a safty or protector. Im new to s300 and if anyone could help that would be awesome. Also. I would stick a timing gun to the motor but the motor will not run at 750rpms. It idles at about 1000-1100. so idk how to check it. i also dont no what the timing should be at becuase the motor has been tuned when it was in a buddys car and idk what jeff evans had set it too.(if that sounds right) If anyone could maybe throw some idea it would be greatly apprciated.

haha i knew it wouldnt be long till i got that. its not the fact that i take it that high its just that the motor was made to go that high and it always went to 9k fine and now it dont and i wanted to know why. its not like a limiter, it bouncing at 8200-8500 rpms and the cuts fuel for like 5 secs. its like i turned the car off while driving.

run a stock ecu and set timing then put the hondata back and see if it runs.

What dizzy did you put in it?
If it wasn't OEM, that is probably your problem. Especially at those engine speeds.
