Frame Slidders

What is everybody's opinions on frame sliders? I know some people swear by them and other do not like them. Heard from some guys that they can cause more damage than good. The reason I ask is I am repainting my bike currently and wold hate to dump it this summer, which knowing my luck I'll be down the first day I ride it with my freshly painted fairings. Not sure if I like the look of them but it would definitely look better than scratched up or broken fairings.

As in most cases, function over form. I think you've answered your own question.

they only really work if you dump it going slow enough. It also depends on the bumpyness of the road and if your bike stays on the road.. Of course if it lays over and slides your fine, but once anything catches and the bike flips/rolls over.... its pretty much curtians for anything not metal on the bike. That being said, I think they are worth the money.

They aren't easy to put on the F2s, and you will have to drill holes in your fairings to put them in.

That being said, I don't have them. Guess what I did? Dropped my bike in my driveway. Guess how my nice Repsol fairings look. Not so nice. Lol. :P

But like Gody said above, they will only really work if you're at a slow speed and you drop it on a flat road surface. If the bike rolls or goes into a ditch or any of that it's game over for anything plastic.

Best advice, don't drop it and you will have no issues. :P

I've been down at 90, 60 and 40 mph, both sides and frame sliders definitly saved huge chunks of my bike. The cheap vortex ones cause the bike to dig and flip, the woodcrafts did their job perfectly.

I run them on my SV. Saved me twice when i dropped the bike while stopped. Worthwhile investment.

Thank for the input guys. Just ordered a set, I didn't think this many people actually used them.

Really depends who makes them, what their made from, and how they are mounted... I had them on my zx10 but didnt but them on any of my other bikes. Ive seen poorly desgined ones rip the frame apart or cause the bike to flip while sliding.
